Punk festivals I hear you say? I've got a mate in London who goes to any that he can get to, half his wardrobe are Anti-Pasti t-shirts, I'm sure...

We used to do a cover of that song. We used to rehearse in a church hall on the north shore and the minister heard us playing this and banned us from using the hall anymore, we must of been bad.

My son hates it when I go to see gigs up there, reckons its embarrassing having a nearly 50yr old punk rocker for a father. But like I tell everyone else, tough fuckin shit. If your not happy with the way I dress or act.

I like a lot of the US hardcore and punk bands from the 80's none more so than Black Flag (and Bad Brains) and the DK's etc

here's Hank the Tank on modern music

the new punk rock is the kids in their bedrooms making stuff up and putting it online. Thats the new "punk" and its really important that old fuckers like me dont get it and dont like it.

In fact theres an argument that all that stuff I hate (dubstep, a lot of electronica, the whole "the DJ is a musician" thing) is the "new" punk. and thats cool. because rock music since the 50's has been about rebellion, pissing off your parents etc. It is an aberration that you get grandads and granddaughters at a rolling stones show. or that a band calling itself the Who are touring.

Ah good stuff that rollins link. I still have (and play) my Black flag and bad brains albums they still hold up against anything today especially I against I and My War.
(I do however like a lot of electronica, Jazz and a bit of country (more bonnie prince billy than brendan doogan though hell I even like that royals song. used to muck around in punk bands in Wellie in the 80's with some of the beast wars boys and shihad fellas before they where shihad, playing in halls and peoples basement etc, fun times.
