If I were looking for a bike and had $6k as an actual limit rather than a guideline then I reckon this might just be the pick of what's currently on TradeMe.

For sale by a prolific KBer if that makes a difference.

Yip well worth the money, have been in the company of that bike on several occasions and it is indeed a stunning machine.

    But:
If he's willing to get a WOF for it for $45 then why the fuck hasn't he? It'd be very likely to make a lot more than $45 difference to the sell price. It could well be that he's got more money than time but it's a little off putting.
I agree butmaybe he's too busy so could be a win if scored for little $$.

Raises a few flags though and would always inspect first.

As an owner of a 06 ZX636 i would say go for one. I love the shit out of mine.
The only bike that comes close to the mid range torque of the 636 is the Triumph 675, and good luck finding one of them for close to $6k.

There is not a huge difference between the 05-06 ZX6R and the RR as far as im aware (apart from the CC's).
Just slightly better front suspension and possibly better brakes but i think the 2007+ ZX6R came out standard with them anyway.

Some people complain about the 05-06 636 brakes being too soft but normally upgrading the master cylinder and stock lines to braided fixes it, but if not the 07 brakes are better and bolt straight on.

That '04 one with the aftermarket repsol kit has been on there faaaarkin ages (as evidenced by the 'new WOF'.... 2nd of may).

When did they start doing repsol colours from factory in the 600RR?

Brand new Repsol Fairing kit and tinted screen installed.
    ...
Have an original red/black Honda Factory full fairing kit. (for the right price) Couple of pieces need a paint.
Dunno if they ever did but it doesn't sound like he's trying to sell it as a Repsol. It's a regular 600rr that got binned and tidied up with an aftermarket fairing kit.

Yeah, wasn't suggesting he was trying to pass it off as original. Just if I was to buy one I'd want an original one for that very reason.

And they sell the 600RR's with respol colours from new now, so they must have started sometime...

I wouldn't know, but this thread seems to suggest you're unlikely to find one. Maybe this is an 09?

They also sell 250s in Repsol colours from new. Don't think it means anything other than a colour scheme these days.

    What're your guys thoughts on http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/moto...-648971967.htm ?

$9.5k seems rather high but it does look like a nice bike. Love the white/black paint job. Sounds like the '07-08 CBR600RR's got a decent redesign so would be the benchmark to go for.

The more I research into yearly revisions on models the newer bike I find myself wanting! Slippery slope this one...

2013 is the only year so far. Prior to that, only the 1000rr.

Maybe its because I want to be special and unique, but I'd rather see the Repsol racing colours on the thou only, they even chucked the colour scheme on a scooter for a little while. Kinda cheapens it imo.

If I had $6k to spend on a bike, I'd probably do what I did oringally, and buy a CBR900RR (cheaper again)
or possibly a late 90s R1 if I could find a tidy example for the money.

It does? What year are you talking? All the ZX6rs (including 636) weigh pretty much the same. Close enough that it will make fuck all difference with the 636 making more power and torque than any of the 600s did.

Going against the grain, I think that is ok value for a nice sounding bike.

I dunno, that one's been re-listed six times now..

Almost 2k cheaper, arguably just as nice: http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/moto...-648140385.htm

That chap seems to think he's a dealer, selling for the same price as this one from Holeshot: http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/moto...-629439002.htm

I reckon it's pretty poorly priced, they generally sell for a fair bit under 10.5k.
