Seb Loeb, on board, Pikes Peak

One for the bimode petrol heads. That car is off the hook! Check the numbers on his dash.
Where are his thumbs unstuck? Just joshin.

Not much choice for thumb position with the flappy paddle, plus he is on seal.
    Good watch though.

Didn't know that they sealed the whole thing, I was going 'when does he hit gravel?'. Kinda explains beating the record by over a minute.

    Cool onboard though.

He basically shaved a minute off Rhys Millens record from last year!

Hitting the rev limiter in 6th gear at 240kmh a couple of times
Ya gotta wonder about some of the spectator locations!

Two things about climb dance, first, how's that driving with one hand as a sun shield? Second, you wouldn't wanna fuck up and run wide

I think this is the second year running with the entire road sealed, although i think last year got cancelled due to forest fires.
This was one of the first runs up the mountain and it started raining soon after so no one else could even get close to this time although a few guys did better the existing record.

Interestingly the fastest bike up the mountain this year was...... electric!
The bikes that do run arent bigger than 500cc twins and they suffer from the high altitude.

They run up to 1205cc bikes and for the real men run 1000cc sidecars, yeah baby

You are right, i was reading the rules for the lightweight class, not the open.
    Displacement # of Cylinders
    750-1000 cc 4 stroke 4
    750-1000 cc 4 stroke 3
    850-1205cc 4 stroke 2

Gee he's really busy on gravel isn't he? Both great videos. And the spectators were in some really dodgy places on some parts of the course!! Lots of trust in the drivers. And they would have been much safer if they had just been wearing Hi Vis gear!!!!!

Did anyone notice the "NZ" sign at about 6 mins 30 in the Seb Loeb vid??
