Good find - I like to keep my eye on bikes that are out of favour, seeking a bargain. That VFR doesn't particularly tickle my fancy, but compared with a $4,000 CBR250 of the same vintage it looks fucking good.

I'm eyeing up a few VTR1000's - I love these bikes purely because they're so unpopular and therefore so cheap. Easily 30% cheaper than a very similar SV, but with a lot more personality IMO.

Here is a bike with infinitely more character, is less damaged and much more fixable. Sold for $520.
I agree, $520 for that NV is a bargain even taking the risk as engine not running. Wouldn't take much to tidy up and on sell for a couple of thou.

Sounds like you're a tight bastard who likes cheap/unpopular bikes because they're cheap and unpopular.
Not saying that's necessarily a bad thing, but you shouldn't really rag on other peoples taste in bikes just because you don't agree with their justifications.

theres not actually, imo they went about $1400 over what they should have paid, a good example of this is the one that sold a few weeks ago, 2009, not de reg`d, 9K kms http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/List...x?id=646017259 I think this was a case of auction frenzy

if you check out the winners other buyings and sellings, it seems he or she is probably a wrecker of some description. perhaps the bike is worth more as parts than as a going concern... cars have gone the same way in recent years.

1 The tyres look very new .. maybe the owner just put on new tyres and rode the bike hme to take the photograph ... and as he says, he is currently riding it .. can can tell fuck all from chicekn strips ...

2 a GSXR thou with chicken strips like that? Shit - i'd buy it - shows the bike has not been too thrashed ...

And whaddarya .. some kind of trademe policeman or wannabe commentator .. ??? If people can get good money for bikes why shouldn't they - a bike is worth what someone wll pay for it - not what an owner or a wannabe think it's worth ..
