Yeah it was a bit earlier when times were about 1.16 and late 15s. SVs run about the same lap times but its in the corners and not the straights.
Getting in each others way a lot doesn't help.

Oh right. Thought things were gonna get messy on the first lap with the orange SV nearly hitting you.

    Good times.

Speed in different areas of the track and same lap times make it a bit more challenging than normal.

yeah buts thats what it's like in posties anyway as you've not only got differnet machinary but a wide range of different riding abilities and race faces on at the same time

Makes for cool racing I reckon...Unless you're the guy on the orange SV.

    Sums it up nice!

Classics and post classics, have such a massively varied field, it doesn't matter what class they get chucked in with.

Fuck, imagine Glen Williams peddling an OWO1 in posties, (Provided he could ride it better than a ZX10 of course). Mutha fucka would be coming past bikes and lapping over 15 seconds quicker than the mid pack bikes!

There was a couple of pre 82 juniors that used to be lapped twice every 5 laps.
The thing with the SVs and big posties is that the overall lap time was the same so the battle continued lap after lap.
The good news was that the skill levels were good at the front end of the racing.
As I said was fun but there were moments of madness also.
The silly thing was the first race we went and qualified. 2 posties and 2 SVs made up the fastest laps but then they decided all SVs would start at the front followed by posties on the grid. My FZR was faster in a straight line to corner one then needed to slow down to take the corner. Corner one was a mess with the front two posties trying to drag around the outside of the SVs then slow down.

Needed a staggered start to avoid that or line them like they qualified.

The orange SV #89 was Zane Brooks. Dan Kempthorne on #333 and I was on #180. I remember that race very well - it was a shit load of fun. I can understand how Zane nearly ran into the back of Mossy cause I nearly did the same to Peter Smith ? on #41 at the hairpin. Stuff trying to haul one of those pre 89's up under brakes. That's when men were men LOL

    Good times alright !

    good vid there.
what I did notice and surprised me was the amount the brake fluid moved around in the reservoir.
Seemed to drop a shit load on brakes which could have been the amount of fluid pumped by the lever or had no dampening rubber in the reservoir to stop it moving around.
winding up stucky since ages ago

I still have the feeling, we're not talking about the brakes on that bike just yet.
