What's the nicest fuelling new bike around?

Probably looking to replace my 2012 Blade which had a lovely pickup from a closed throttle. If I did my job right, mid corner, I could give it just enough to tighten the chain and then drive out seamlessly. Just about every bike I read about, especially the ride by wire ones, suffer from snatchy action... I'll hate that.

675's pretty good. All MV's range from bad to appalling, KTM's not much better. Really fancy a Tuono V4, possibly an RSV4... but reading their online forums they have issues too.

Might have to get another CBR.

Although they've got old tech cables and electronic injection, the fuelling on a GSX1250FA and its brethren is hard to fault.

The issue you describe is literally the worst thing about my bike. Suck diddly ucks round town too. Fine at open road or on track

Sounds like you like the Blade - why replace, spend a significantly less on some goodies to personalise it and enjoy.

I loved my Blade... unfortunately I managed to find the U turning fuckwit who could waltz through all my predictions of what he might actually do next and the bike and I ended up in the gutter. It will probably be written off. Happily the car only suffered a few scuff marks on the right front fender.

I can imagine the "not a bandit" having a lovely throttle action............................................ .................................................. ..........

V4, 4 carbs, cam driven gears. nice flat torque curve so plenty right and smooth where I ride most of the time. Now for the bike . . . .

Maybe I'm reading it wrong, but I find keeping a positive throttle throughout the corner avoids any snatchy behaviour...or just going a gear lower?

But yep I know what you mean, a sudden pickup from 0% throttle sucks. From the various bikes I've ridden, I don't think you could do much better than a 2012 Blade in that regard...

Hehe I was going to post something like that earlier but didn't want to send it sideways so early...
Yeah just about never on zero throttle anywhere near a corner, except on the DR where the pop n bang on the over run is too much to resist...
Do the newer bikes still have a fast idle lever, using that can help...

I've said it many times, R.I.P. the throttle cable. A simple wire within a casing. Pull one end and the other end moves. So beautiful in it's simplicity, perfection and execution. Seems every RBW bike I've sampled just makes me shed a tear for the cable. We have no choice, all new bikes are moving towards RBW (Really Bloody Wrong progress)

The Cops will be happy because RBW stuffs wheelies

Currently own both of those bikes and have zero issues with power delivery however we have re geared (-1 front sprocket) as they really are geared for high speed open road riding...no shocks there.

Cool. Sounds like a test ride is in order. I was just on the point of dropping the gearing on the Blade... an indicated 158kph at the rev limiter in first just seemed stupid

RBWs aren't all bad. Fuelling-wise, my Shiver couldn't be faulted. I also understand that its front wheel could be clutched up at about 7,500rpm.

Starting to see a theme here that Aprilia, at least, have mastered the art. Parts and warranty repairs.... possibly not? Perhaps now that the Tuono and RSV4 are mature models they'll have sorted their shit out.

    Not an MT-09!

    Or a Brutale 800!

I talked to a guy just the other day who'd taken the Brutale for a test ride and been quite shaken by some of it's antics :-)
