You certainly have to do the calculations based on the tarriffs shown on the YouShop site to assess whether it's worth it for the value of your product. And yes, having the product sent to their warehouse in Portland first obviously adds a few more days but that's never bothered me as I haven't been that desperate to get the order. As others have mentioned, YouShop is especially good for products which suppliers won't ship direct to NZ. As well as minimum international shipping charges by some suppliers, who they use also seems to have a significant cost difference as I was absolutely skinned earlier this year when I had a motorcycle jacket shipped over. The supplier used Fedex and whether it was the Fedex cost component or whether the supplier screwed me for handling and packing charges on top of freight, I don't know.

Ive only used procycle and the service is bloody awesome, the longest has been 5 working days, normally 4. Ive always kept it under $400 to avoid tax and the freight has been reasonable, Im prepared to to pay a bit more for reliable and fast service.

Recently had a full re build on the DT 230 Lanza motor. Eventually sourced everything from this lot, JP- Parts, all bits for crank re build & top end, piston, bearings, con rod, seals, more bearings etc. Cost about $800 delivered to my door. Used Paypal. Got confirmation of payment receipt from JP on a Friday, got a note in me letterbox from the courier driver on Tuesday. All genuine Yamaha bits, too.

Oh, thinking of purchasing some Chrissie pressies from this lot Japan Webike.

After spending over ten years in the transport industry its just that I know how quick stuff can move when the right people are on the job. I've noticed a lot of local companies aren't even updating tracking data a lot now. Not so much desperate as annoyance at being charged $ for a certain service and not getting that level.

Couple of other ones, some of you probably also enjoy reading real books and this is the place to get them from http://www.bookdepository.com/ they also have lots of stuff that the local bookstores never stock. Shipping can be slow (LOL) but it is consistently slow lol... from when they say its sent any where from 4-21 days, typically about 6-11 days.

I always get asked where's the best deal on camera stuff http://www.einfo.co.nz/index.php are a parallel importer that are very reliable.

And http://www.ascent.co.nz/ are very good for computer bits and memory cards etc.

I reckon one of the best things are product reviews such as seen on this site. Nothing beats hearing from those that have bought the stuff before.

This you post site run by NZ Post. If you buy say four items all from different suppliers. NZ Post ships them out will you still be liable for duty of the total? Or is each purchase treated as individual components if they are from different suppliers? Any body know the answer to this one?

Do this all the while - it's on individual items. I might be lucky but have NEVER had to pay duty even though some purchases are $500+. If you let multiple purchases amass at the YouShop warehouse, you get discounts on all but the first one.

Thanks for the reply. Yes, thought so but was unsure. Funny thing though, even if you edit the description, there still is the default, maybe it is written on the package for Customs?
I am thoroughly impressed with the system. I wish I had known about this a year ago.
I give NZ Post a huge thumbs up for this, postage charges are very reasonable....

In the past I have used com gateway for shipping stuff ex the US, usually KTM parts as the online sellers over there aren't allowed to ship internationally: http://www.comgateway.com/2012/start...g.do?l=en&c=NZ Initially the NZ post youshop prices were about the same but now the youshop has got cheaper & comgateway have put their prices up so my most recent order is coming via youshop.

With KTM parts the difference between NZ & US prices is usually so massive that I don't care if I get stung for the GST, I'm still saving $$$, however lots of $400+ stuff seems to slip through.

Yeah I've had two shipments in excess of $400 (one from the UK and one from Germany) come through with no problems.

I like the the drop down sun screen. I have had the XTR helmet which is a similar price for 5 months and still can't get a tinted visor for it.
