Getting motorbike from Auckland to Wellington?

    Hi all

Forgive me if I have posted this in the completely wrong section.

I am a relatively new biker am just finalising my purchase of a Honda Steed 600

I was wondering if anyone from KB was travelling through Manurewa back to Wellington with a trailer and would be keen to transport my new bike for a little less then I was going to pay the big transport companies?

    Cheers

I think you should go and get it.

    Ride it home.

Pay the gas and a flight back and I'd do it.

Dude, ride it. You will have a pick of some awesome roads, loads of places to stop and get a drink when you're tired.

Flyup on a Friday evening, pick up the bike, ride back Saturday and Sunday. A no brainer

    Enjoy.

Well It seems I don't take much convincing, With the nature of my work I am fortunate enough to have 4 days off starting from today which is kind of perfect.

A buddy has agreed to be my support car as I slowly make my way back on the new bike over the next 2 days. Will probably stay the night in taupo. Fingers crossed for good weather right through the north island!

    Cheers

    Great to hear.

Some of the best memories of rides are the rides home from picking up your new bike.

Ride safe and I look forward to your ride report when you get back.

Riding back is a no brainer.

Last week I had to drive (the car..) back to Wellington from Auckland after a 2 week vacation around the North Island. I went SH4/3 instead of 1 and even on that road I was so gutted I wasn't on the bike. Sadly with camping gear, tramping gear, clothing, food etc for myself and the girlfriend taking the bike wasn't ever going to be an option. I did "joke" about it though....

Ride safe and have fun. Will be hard not to
