This persons MO is that of a $hit driver with zero driving skills and zero respect for other road users, particularly motorcycles. I work in the Auckland CBD and used to commute on my bike until 1 week out from Christmas an Indian woman in the left hand turn lane only (where Kitchener St meets Victoria) decided to go straight ahead and literally merged into my lane en-route to the Kitchener St carpark (exits High St) where I was heading. Almost took me out and my leg. Caught up to her at the barriers which had malfunctioned, she wound down her window wanting to know why I seemed a wee bit upset with her, so I explained her driving faux pas in almost taking me out and costing me a leg-her response was that it was all my fault for being in the wrong lane and to leave her alone cos she has children in the car? WTF you stupid entitled woman. Almost took my leg off cos ur A talking on ur mobile phone and B in the wrong gawdamn lane and undercut, thank god for head checks, but Christ it was that close. Followed her intending to take her details, *555 her A$$ and give her a bollocking. Eventually she stopped at level 12. While um on the phone to the cops she calls security and says she's being stalked by a scary biker who's following, harassing, and intimidating her, AT security guy comes by 10 mins later to take in the scene (another Indian), takes one look at her and then me, then assumes i'm in the wrong and orders me to piss off. I complain to the cops and AT then go park in the regular spot I been parking in for the last 3 years, fast forward after work, come back to the bike and there's a warning notice the next time I park there they'll tow my bike cos it aint in a designated zone. My bike can't fit in the entrance to the motorcycle bay and the measly parks they do have on the lower levels, are taken up by local residents who park their scooters or cram their crotch rockets in there...bloody little Chinatown.

Long and short of it-AT & the Cops don't give a flying F*UCK. Am aghast at what happened to you and your Lady.
So GET THAT A$$hole and roast his A$$ for all its worth.
If I wasn't so concerned about flushing my career down the toilet and therefore my means of paying my bills i'd of taken another course of action. These people just don't give a F*UCK, is a so what event for them...probably evade their comeuppance like a Muslim does pork. Wished i'd have some offal and pork on me, so I coulda thrown it at her.

Did he ask if anyone was hurt? If he stopped to ascertain if there was any injury the he's done his legal duty, after that it's just your word against his unless there were witnesses for any charges by the police for driving like a fucktard.

Of course, you probably should put a claim in with your insurance company for any damage, at least make the prick pay his excess for fixing your bike.

To the op, that fucking sucks and glad you're ok. I don't imagine the cops will do much, especially as the photos dont really show a whole lot in themselves. Did you have any witnesses other than your girl? If all else fails, find out where he lives and slash his tyres.

Yep... As others said be very careful of over the top pride and stubbornness while riding in Auckland... It could get you killed. Mostly from foreigners (and I'm one too) that come from a very different background and get their license way too easy once in NZ.
They usually have no respect of motorcyclist or anything smaller than what they drive. That's why you see many Asians with huge SUV with L plates on them.
Its all about... " I'm bigger or faster than you, get out of my way" ... Type of mentality.

I consider myself a reasonable good driver but I was surprised when all I have to do to get my Full NZ driving license was to present my foreigner license translated and sit a silly basic True or False test. I was allowed to drive any type of vehicle in a matter of 20 minutes, pretty scary when you consider Before that I never driven/ridden on the left side in my life.

Auckland... Not my future.

Go to police - it will be formally recorded and take gf as a witness. The police will not doubt have a chat with the driver and most importantly it will be recorded on file.


To be fair somewhere in NZ on some 'family sedan' website there is a guy complaining about the knob I saw on a motorcycle today passing straight into head on traffic........on the open road.
