    bwahahahahaha, You are kidding right?
One bloke I worked with at a furniture company locally was a class 5 driver, and had lost his licence for drink driving FOUR TIMES, in a VERY short space of time. every time while working for the same employer. every offence occurred while ON the job, driving a company truck. Every time, (bar one) the truck he was in at the time was loaded with someone's entire collection of worldly possessions.

He only lost his job after the last one, and even then it was only because the judge said he was losing his licence for over a year this time, and the company didn't want to be paying driver's wages to what would effectively be a labourer for over a year.

and that's far from the only horror story of drivers with class 2, 4 or 5 on their licences that I have known to be still allowed to legally drive (and remain employed) despite some horiffic driving history. another in the same company has had three accidents in 15 years that have resulted in the death of another (one a motorcyclist).

I won't name the company in case I get in the shit, but they are nationwide and the trucks are white . . .

Yes, anyone can make a mistake. But deliberately drive into someone. Twice! No no, that's just pure evil. Even when I had stopped him, he didn't make any effort to take any blame.

Yes, I partly blame myself for letting me be provoked. The rational thing would be to just brake and let him go. But the fact that I didn't, does not excuse him to jam into me. He should have stopped where he was, when there was no room for him to merge in after doing his stupid U-turn. It would make him look like a dork standing still in the opposing lane, but that's the price of making "mistakes". Been there, done that.

I have a full license since 4 years. Done track days and rider training. Driven everything from 50cc scooter to GSXR750 race prepped. Daily driver is my Duke 200, weekender Hornet 900.
    How is your girlfriend's leg?

If it does end up in court all he will get is $150 for failing to stop in time. You wont be able to muster enough evidence to prove he deliberately hit you and it all appears low speed, no injury.
If you lose one licence.....you lose the lot and unless your gonna push a 40ft container your fucked.
He hit you - that is dangerous driving causing harm. That's 6 months license disqualification. All licenses.

Very illegal to fill out your log book in a Semi with no license. Which is investigated at the end of the year. OSH requires it of all freight firms (but most do a 3 year check).

So yeah I know a little bit about trucks and drivers. Good bunch of blokes (most of em).

So you're not a n00b and you still thought you'd brake test an incompetent in a car from a culture where the bigger the vehicle, the more right of way you get, with your girlfriend between you and the car. I'd suggest that the policeman taking that report may frown a little.

For the 50 cents it cost you there to buy a "licence" you may as well tick all the boxes......
Nothing special - means he has the ability drive a very big truck in his home country......which translates to 5 steps of licence here.
So this guy probably drove a Kamaz with 16 speed and a trailer at home and now he has free reign over everything when he transfer his license here.

We can clearly see a 7 seater van is outside of his driving ability.

WTF were you thinking? You got exactly what you deserve, and were a huge contributor to this incident. You're on a slow bike and you have another person's life in your hands - if someone is driving like a psycho, back the fuck off. The fact that you risked your girlfriend's well-being says a lot about the kind of person you are.

Fair enough, probably wouldn't want to work with a company with that attitude anyway.

Thanks1 I think we are too.
There is not may companies now days that don't play ball. TSL's are getting harder to come by now, you have to be squeeky clean at most points now days to operate.
Road side checks daily now are putting the cowboys out of business real quick. Random drug tests in 90% of all transport companies. Not much that isn't checked.

    What attitude ..... Legal???
For your info we have a top reputation in our field. We have not one claim in 2 years and not one abusive phone call about drivers. We pay well above standard rate and we have the best of the best drivers....this is why you wouldn't get a job, we would be far too good to have you.
Attitude is....we want to be the best at what we do...whats your attitude?
