You are correct Silent! It was an open track day. i was there also and the track day crash thread was all about this.
We must keep our information exact before we post i feel!

That moment just before you crash when you know you can't do anything about it... Just sucks!

Analyzing the video footage after the fact (safely behind your computer screen), you can "easily" see how the triumph could have avoided an accident.

He was braking - which unfortunately put himself in collision path with the down-ed bike and rider, and the grass seemed a better option than potentially running over another rider. If he maintained his speed - things would have been fine. BUT lets be honest here - if a bike goes down right in front of you, it'll be hard not to brake. Most people don't encounter this type of sh!t every day you know!

The geezer doing the bad shit realized it was gonna be tight...he fucking freaked and picked the bike up a lil or simply didn't have the skill/balls to keep the bike on it's side and collided with Joe Bloggs that was minding his own business. Joe Bloggs # 2 freaked and made his own destiny.

...any attempts at being half man, half horse...half here, half there...a drag racing greenie...half sorry, are all doomed to failure...as is being half racer, half rider...there's enough fucking eggs in racing to keep you on yer toes...to many options for too many cunts that think they are half good...dont wanna make anyone think that maybe they should get scooters and take their girlfriends on picnics out in the country though...that wouldn't be very PC would it...

There's this bloke called Lockie, runs Cams days, not too different to rider days, just with flag starts. At briefing he fixes you with the evil eye, and warns you: if you behave/ride like a muppet, you will be put on the trailer and sent home, if you crash on warmup lap you will be put on trailer and sent home, if you have a crash during the race or near miss or near contact on other riders, you will get looked at and risk being put on the trailer and sent home- He is quite serious about it and makes that crystal clear, guess what? seldom an incident.

Maybe the track marshalls need to pay attention and make notes and communicate with their control station early on if some one is showing a pattern, won't stop the innocent road riders over reacting and helping themselves to a crash, but might help spot the muppet causing crash potential in the first place and remove him from the equasion.
    Speed kills-just ask the rabbit......

depends on the track day and the organisers and what group you are in. If there are three C being "fastest/most comfortable on track" then you can pass anywhere, B being "intermediate" then its passing on the straights and outsides and "A" being newbs then its passing on the straights only. Sometimes there is a separate group for MNZ race licence holders as well because they can tend to intimidate the road riders a bit. Plus (trust me on this) its REALLY expensive to deck your road bike on a track day.

Yup, the first 30 seconds was some of the worst throttle control I have seen in a long time! Then someone broke the Coming Inside rule......

Only luck prevented it from being a lot worse!

Maybe they should give out free bubblewrap at riders briefing.
