Parked at the ANZ Center on Monday, no problems. No need to pay, the guy just waved me through when I went to present the ticket.

Different attendant today who not only didn't want to take my money, but abused me for daring to park there.

    What?

They have a Casual rate displayed and their website lists it as a casual car park, so I called the call center to find out what is potting.

Apparently the answer is no, motorcycles are no longer allowed to park casually in any Wilson car park. Either you have a monthly pass or you fuck off. Even if you take a ticket, occupy a slot the same as a car and then attempt to pay for your parking as a motorcycle this is not allowed. No casual motorcycle parking - at all.

I asked Hugo what the fuck the difference between a motorcycle and a car is if we take a ticket, park in a bay and then exit paying for parking; but apparently no - not allowed. And they won't give you a roving monthly pass that allow you to park at any park when you're there - it is only applicable to one car park and needs a day or two to move to a different location.

Next time I'll just park on the cobbled area in front of the building. Fuck trying to do the right thing.
Wow... words fail me on this one (and that's rare!) Maybe take a crowbar to their barrier arm next time?

I've been watching too much Surveilance Oz to want to do that. I'm going to try and get something in writing for them because it is like comedy gold.

I used to park in the Sky Shitty carpark for free by riding around the barrier when I left. Worked every time.

Woah - that's shit-house. We have Wilson's parking at work and I just ride round the barrier and park for free, although I haven't tried it in a while so perhaps I'd be in for a rude awakening.

Be interested to know why the sudden 'no casual motorcycles' policy.

I've written them to find out formally what their policy is. One thing to go from a parking attendant to a call center - another to have it documented.

This is true, I'd be really interested to see what they come back with... see if it reaches new levels of stupidity haha!

A bit off-topic maybe: but it's also a bit rich to be "abused" by the attendant over something that used to be allowed but now isn't. Yay for customer service.

Wilson's are a bunch of overpriced tossers anyway, so fuck em. Even more so after they demonstrate such 'customer service'

I go out of my way to avoid them, although that's not too much of a problem as they tend to be in stupid locations anyway. The AT buildings are quite fine for me, better locations, better prices

I had to shoot into town for an errand so I decided to take one of the oldies for a run. As luck would have it, a car park was available in front of the shop. I parked, went into the shop (without feeding the meter) and when I came out the meter man was there. Turns out he wasn't interested in the meter, just my bike! Anyway, he told me I don't have to use a designated car park in the city. There is an old bylaw stating a horse, bicycle or motorcycle can be parked on the verge providing it doesn't impede pedestrians! I haven't paid for parking since and I always wave at the meter people. I know the Tron can be a bit backwards but it may pay to check with local council.
