Newbie female rider needs some advice on selling her bike

    Hi there bikers!

Newbie female rider here from Wellington: I have a red 2005 Honda VTR 250 (58,000km) which has come from a previous owner with a few scratches and some added by me.

Sadly I will be leaving NZ at end of April and have to say goodbye to the little beastie Does anyone have any advice on how best to sell it, clean it and smooth out any of those scratches on the paintwork and little rust marks on the silver parts including exhaust?? Would I lose out if i tried to sell it in April ie is it best to sell it now? Or does any one know a place in Wellington that's fair in cost but could pretty it up for me to sell?

    Cheers!

    Hey there.

If you want to come by work at some stage and let me have a look at it I'll happily tell you what you need and need to do. Best to see the bike in person first.

How can she leave the country if she's chained up in your dungeon

My advice, yep get bike assessed (even by Crasherfromwayback), give it a really good clean, polish obvious shiny bits, change oil, put it on TradeMe as an auction with low reserve a couple of weeks before you go. Be honest in description, take good close up photos and realistic about pricing. Check market value first and let the market decide what it's worth.
Get on the plane and fly home with $$ in your pocket.

Customers Pete,Customers They (the victims) like to be refereed to as customers, Don't worry you can still victimise them afterwards.
I have heard from some people that have spend time with Pete that he is a ok bloke... This could be Stockholm syndrome

Oh Pete just has a gruff exterior, if you ask nicely he might give you a tipple from the bottle of jack in his office.

Good. I like it rough. But seriously...happy to look at it as a buy for the shop...or to help you with what you need to do.

Be careful Stefi, he might sell your bike for you but there is a very real chance you will leave with a Harley.

Seriously KB - all these posts and not one of you have suggested she lists it on trademe with a few pictures of her standing next to it in a wet T?

Disappointing KB, disappointing, mind you it is Sunday so maybe the trip to church this morning sorted you lot out.
