Sure... because immersion in any culture other than yours is "indoctrination", but immersion in your culture is what.... "normal"?
I suppose I really need to acknowledge your superior first hand experience of what goes on in Māori language immersion schools. How many minutes worth was that again?

The point is that the majority of schools in New Zealand are 'white man immersion' schools from both a cultural and language point of view.
You raised Maori language and cultural immersion schools as if they were 1) exclusively for Māori people (they aren't) and 2) inherently racist because they are grounded in one cultural viewpoint, just like mainstream schools in New Zealand are.
Not expecting you to change your mind, I can see you have some hate that you are just wanting to share around.

No they're not, what a racist thing to say, they're New Zealand schools teaching New Zealand culture. The level of Maori content relects the import of the Maori in New Zealand, and I'm very sorry if that doesn't meet your standard. I'm not sure how you can't find a school that focuses one culture (when New Zealand is obviously made up of so many diverse subcultures) anything but racist.
I'm not sure how that was racist. I attended mainstream New Zealand schools and they were thoroughly mono-cultural. That is not to say that there weren't people of different cultures who attended the school, and we even examined other cultures as part of the schooling. However, the cultural practices, ethics, values, family models and language were entirely what you have termed 'kiwi' and what I have labelled 'white man immersion'.
Those schools force one culture as much as Māori immersion schools do.
Point is, you don't need to fear Māori immersion schools, or overlook the culturally immersive environments within mainstream New Zealand schools.
New Zealand as a whole is fairly representative of this arrangement too. While there are people of many cultures who LIVE here, you cannot say that the cultural norms of all of those people are represented within the social structures or norms within our society. I can't even imagine how this would be possible when lots of them would be mutually exclusive.

And what constitutes ""white man immersion"??
A school that offers Te Reo to all of its students?
A school that bases a huge amount of the "social studies" curriculum on Maori culture?
A school that sings 30% of their school choir songs in Maori?
A school that offers Maori only scholarships?
Because that is what happens on most of our public and almost all of the private schools in NZ.
maybe its just me but I fail to see how they are grounded in one cultural view point.
