As I said, Mrs. Bear changed her mind and I bought her the car instead. Selling the MX5 will clear the garage for it and get money back. Today I got her a Navman GPS to go with it.

That was my last resort as dealers don't want cars this old and only offer a very low price and send them to the auctions. I got the car for Mrs. Bear for a bit over half the written valuation and $1500 below its trade in value so I can't complain. We don't mind if the MX5 takes a while to sell. My son-in-law wants it but they’re spending a lot on their house and building another unit on their section so free cash is non - existent.

Don't worry, he's already suggested that! I may yet take him up on it with some rather strict instructions...

Lol! Yup. I let him use it for our last holiday to take his teenage son in while the rest of us went in the Kizashi. They had a ball! My biggest worry is the soft top. Being quite old I would worry they could tear it. I am very careful when putting it up and down.

Sad to say, the car sold today. At least now Mrs. Bear can park her car in the garage for the Winter. Shame we didn't have a three - car garage, though.
