Well it was time to try something different so this is what I bought

She is road legal, geared to about 165kph and yellow

We have a DT 230 Lanza in the fold which I adore and may, may, have a CRM 250 by years end. Not sure how to get it registered, import stuff ect.

The DT is hilarious on gravel & roads which are too complicated to get over 100kmh.

Oh, congrats. I love the smell of TTS in the morning.

those DT230s are pretty awesome, i remember marks used to fly around the country side loaded up with luggage

Showing my age here a bit but have ridden a street legal PE400 and from that experience would suggest you take your rear number plate and fit it on the 250

400 ride impression, power and vibration were immense not helped at all by the to low gearing, she peaked out at about 90mph in a few moments and was throwing its wheel up in the air in ever gear (having said that my riding style in those days may have been a tad aggressive)

Possibly still one of the meanest road rides I can remember

Certainly have a smile on my face after my last Ride on the RMX (250), I got a bit to do to her to fit me but did a short metal road sorty and with the bald skinny economy tire it had on, she was wheelspin city and slew itself sideways with anything more than a wiff of throttle on the loose stuff (have a bigger 606 on its way to try sort some of that)

I have to say I understand the hilarious thing but at the moment its mixed with a bit of fear, she aint no roll it on 4 stroke

looking forward to getting her fully sorted and seeing what she can really do

Heard some good things about those bike's and they are probable the sensible choice's as am not sure if I've bitten off more than I can chew here, and its tantalising for me knowing I can wheelie easy in the first three gears without using the clutch

I was oh so tempted to buy my brother's rmx.
But as i am a broke ass uni student who relies on my bike every day now, i took the sensible route by choosing a dr650

Heard some good things about those bike's and they are probable the sensible choice's as am not sure if I've bitten off more than I can chew here, and its tantalising for me knowing I can wheelie easy in the first three gears without using the clutch

The wee DT is very civilised, no big hit. The power is relatively linear from idle, strong from bottom through the mid range. It's easy to wheelie, lean back, add throttle. Get the weight, throttle & grip more exuberant than expected & the wee thing will snap up real quick.
My rear tire is munted but to be honest even with a MX tire, sideways on gravel is just in the wrist. I tend to blip my way through corners & hang it out a little on exit.
The CRM with standard pipe is similar, loads of torque from the bottom through the mid range. With the race pipe it's more old school, you have to keep the revs up & hang on when it comes on the pipe. I prefer the stocker.

To be honest a wise choice for you needs, the RMX is a cantankerous thing around town, but makes up for it in spades once let loose elsewhere

Very nice and a great ride description, CRM is choice (maybe yours?)

will give another ride description on RMX once I get a new tire on, am also thinking about firming up forks to keep more weight reward when braking as at the moment you have to let the front brake off if pulled to hard as rear tries to come around, ok on the road but limiting in the gravel. I need to be able to slow down fast as the girl can get away on you if your not careful
