will give another ride description on RMX once I get a new tire on, am also thinking about firming up forks to keep more weight reward when braking as at the moment you have to let the front brake off if pulled to hard as rear tries to come around, ok on the road but limiting in the gravel. I need to be able to slow down fast as the girl can get away on you if your not careful
I use the back brake a lot on gravel, to temper the throttle through & out of a corner, brake & throttle together & to keep the bike level when braking for a corner. Both brakes. As you say with the softer forks the front loads up & they get light at the back, does it it on tar seal, too. Combined braking works really well.

Yes it is apparent from the rides so far that I may need to modify my riding style a little and am already noticing the lack of engine braking, in fact she actually overruns a bit on a chopped throttle even when you change down, I think the RMX tune is a touch wild in these low drag road type situations, partly the reason I think I am noticing the braking issues so much

Can adjust power valve and maybe jetting to see if that improves things, otherwise I'll just hang on and run it in deep

Nice try but I'm thinking the Doctor still has some use, like say Travelling half way to Hamilton before we even get to some metal.

Went for 100km blast tonight, RMX is a bit better since new front tire fitted (Kenda big block off KTM) plus rim lock removed and balanced, will hold 110kph ok but is now shaking a bit from the rear after that, most likely the rear rim lock and a total lack of any sort of weight to hold it down, O and the fact the seat is trying to cut me in half.

Getting there though and it will be a toss up between DR and RMX if I do head Hamilton way this weekend,a slower more gruelling one on the road if I take the 2smoke option (though quite thrilling once I get there)

Do I go for comfort or fun at a all cost

My mate has one sat in the shed. Good nick'ish. Runs well but the front tire is knackered & the spindle is seized so he can't get the wheel off. He's a bit slow on replacing it. Sadly.
Bit of a weapon apparently & from what he has told me I don't know why the front wheel is such a big deal.

My bro-in-law had a PE400 and I had an IT400. Great engines but the suspension and especially the brakes, not so great.
it's not a bad thing till you throw a KLR into the mix.
those cheap ass bitches can do anything with ductape.

The only hope I see for the 400 is gearing it to the moon, rubber mounting everything that connects to your body and super balancing the wheels and adding 606 tires, PS, decompressing it to mellow it out and making pipe real quiet

    That's all
