    here's a cheap pig

    and a cheap tank

    http://www.trademe.co.nz/a.aspx?id=716064140

think that'd be a better option than my 25litre too

Its KB Casualty Sam's bike, his second pig - first one stolen in less than a week.

Find the 17L IMS tank good all-round size - seen few guys take out their radiators
with the 25L acerbis set ups.

yeah i have a 25litre safari for mine... my talent level is already challenged enough without throwing all that weight up top, so in hindsight it wasn't a flash choice. 17 seems a bit more realistic to muscle around the place

yeah the 22l on my 600 is a bit of a pig, the stock tank is mint for handling but shite in Kms, a 15-18l would be the perfect in between for kms and handling

im thought the acerbis tank offered more protection for the radiator. i replaced my ims with the acerbis after hitting reserve on the molesworth

BRP - you coming on Shoshonis anzac ride? you must be the only xr650 left amongst out lot

mine was tapped out at 160 on all the straights, we took the bikes to the end of the road on the ute too. Think it's 110k down the rainbow but i have been wrong once before. I thought that was quite fair fuel economy for how far open i had the throttle

maybe a leaner main jet the faster you go the less fuel

No plans to at this stage - pig hasn't been fired up in months, looking to fit 49 tooth sprocket scored
and get into doing some single track riding - have a good blast and hold it on

Yeah still flying the sole piggie flag

Think with the whale tanks sitting so much more proud just more room for impact where the bars would normally take it.

I emptied the standard tank on a Wednesday night ride for a return trip from Christchurch to Duvauchelles - had to lean it over on Moorhouse
ave to get the last lot of drops to get home. Just googled the distance - 155 KM so probably not to bad considering the pig was not hanging around footing it with sport bikes. Recall 15/44 gearing. Found if you can get it sounding like a honda water pump - ticking along, can get 65 MPG plus with 37 mortard gearing. Pretty sure 38 rear low as you can go on standard rear rim.

my little piggy might be out of action for a while went to start it for work yesterday and f#@k no compression, checked the decomp etc all seem to be workin as it should so will need to decapitate to check out the slug but thats gonna have to wait till some funds get built up.
would be nice to drop either a 630,640 or 650 slug in

Did you check the spark plug ? It may be missing
Or whip the rocker cover off and make sure the valves are closing up
