Those first few laps were incredible and I'm sorry both Dani and Rossi got left behind for one reason or another. Rossi was riding well but he has to learn to stay on line.

Could Dani have pushed MM if he didn't have the ground to make up first - I reckon he could have.

Good to see Horhay riding so well, but it also looked like his bike had gone off for the latter part of the race. Honda definitely have the goods over Yamaha this year - those things are blindingly quick.

Yeah, I was thinking that it was MM not the Honda, but Dani was flying in the last part of the race.
It was a pity that Bradl ran Rossi wide.

The track is wide but only the racing line was usable, the rest of the track "was like ice".

I enjoyed the moto3 race, felt bad for Miller but he and Fenati done good. Fenati got a one point penalty slap, fair enough, it didn't change the result but told him he was naughty.

We didn't see it but Low had a good ride from 22nd or thereabouts up to eighth after a footrest speared him through the ankle prior to the race.

And we only have to wait until Friday for it all to kick off again - if the bikes get there on time...

And if Jorge was on one of those awful Hondas he would be winning more races than the choirboy.

Yeah nah 3 wins from pole in the opening rounds of the season and the kid hasnt even raised a sweat yet.
What with Lorenzo and Yamahas mid corner dominance now a long distant memory all he can hope for is Pedrosa to find some early race aggression:zzzzwont be holding my breath tho.

Interesting to see MM was peeling off 2 or 3 degrees more max lean while stalking Jorge too.

Damn good race from start to finish!
We all expected the MM show but for Pedro to run down Lorenzo and pass him, thats not good for Yamaha?
I must say MM is showing great maturity none of the antic's we all saw in Moto2, I reckon he just paced himself all the way through even after a bad start.
Looks like the best of the rest is where the racing is going to be.
Lorenzo wants to be on a Honda I'd guess and Rossi will stay because he prob thinks he's going the best the bike can go?
On a Motorcycle you're penetrating distance, right along with the machine!! In a car you're just a spectator, the windshields like a TV!!

He's riding completely differently to what he was. His riding style has come a long way and now he's really starting to look like he could challenge the kid. Although MM looks like he might just be having fun and something left if he is challenged.

Riding the kerbs is becoming more and more important. The Honda's can do it but the Yamaha's reliance on mid corner speed means they're having big problems doing it.

Maybe there is an advantage to having your elbow on the ground

It seems to help pick the bike up if you lose the front mid corner.

Pedrosa and Lorenzo must be pissed - both think they have a good chance at being champion and along comes this fucking Spanish kid and wipes the floor with them ...

here's what the yamaha riders are saying.

Lorenzo led for 16 laps after making one of his trademark starts, putting in some impressive early lap times as rivals Marc Marquez and Dani Pedrosa got caught up in the crowd in the opening stages.

Lap 17 eventually saw Marquez take the lead from Lorenzo who was then defending second place until the penultimate lap. As Pedrosa passed Lorenzo the latter appeared to decide it was best to secure third rather than battle for second.

On his podium return Lorenzo acknowledged, “This is probably the most sweet third position of all my career. We showed that even not in our best moment we can fight with these guys. We must keep pushing. Pedrosa was so strong at the end of the race, I was very tired and I tried my hardest to stay in second place. I decided to stay third and finish the race.”

He added, “This year is more difficult than every other year because of the engine freeze, but we can still improve the electronics and the chassis. I can also improve my riding style and with the mechanics.”

On his fourth place finish, Rossi added, “I had the potential and the pace to end on the podium and especially to fight with the three guys in front.”

“Unfortunately in the first laps I made a mistake and lost a bit, but the place I really lost out was when Stefan Bradl made a mistake. He arrived too deep in braking and he pushed me out of the track and I lost two seconds on that lap and so missed the podium.”

It wan't easy to see it coming in advance, but the game has moved on. The aliens, including Stoner I believe, have been left behind. If, however, Marquez learns that he is not in fact immortal, things may slow down to where the others can compete again.

Short of that we will have to wait until a new generation of riders come through, young guys who have been brought up to regard what Marquez is doing as "normal".
