That the horror woman that we had running the country for 9 painful years got rid of it is a huge crime. Downscale the army yes, but not the Air Force ( or indeed the Navy ) when we have so much coastal and ocean area to monitor.

Freeloading is an appropriate word given that so many Kiwis subscribe to it. The infuriating thing about socialists is they are so convinced their way is the only way, when demonstrably it isnt. Gordon Brown is a notorious example of massive socialist failure, look at the mess David Cameron and George Osborne are having to deal with. Probably an even bigger economic mess than Margaret Thatcher had to deal with following Wilsons / Callaghans massive failure.

A strike air force is not a lot of good for patrolling New Zealand's coastal and ocean area Robert. You do understand the meaning of the word 'strike' don't you?

In the event of an invasion, our Army would be our greatest asset as it would be guerrilla warfare that would become our foremost form of defense.
