Here is a Harley-Davidson being raced by a man being paid by Harley-Davidson to do so. It has an XR750 engine in it. The rest...ain't Harley. But it is a Harley. Now we'll talk about Rossi's M1 Yamaha. It uses Ohlins susp, Webber Marelli electronics, Brembo brakes etc etc...is it a Yamaha?

Re the MT-01 - I'd be more inclined to build one in more of a Cafe Racer style. Reminiscent of a racing Vincent - Only with Flat bars and mid sets for the taller gentleman.

I'd also really like to do that with a 1700cc Thunderbird. Monster Cafe.

Rode one for the first time a couple of months ago. Fuck they're top heavy compared to a big block HD.

The original XR750 was built in the factory and sold on the floor, later it became a bike built from parts. Scott Parker won the no1 plate 9 times, this is my favorite photo of him. Racing doesn't get much closer.

If you are ever in Dunedin the Harley dealer there has one. It is fabulous. I love all race bikes but that ones a bit special.

They were just Honda when I was a lad I think.

Those in the know, did the XR750 heads ever make it onto anything for the masses? First time I've noticed the left exit exhaust just now.

Rode one last week - Thunderbird Commader Aus Launch.
Didn't find that at all. Just the opposite actually. The handling and road manners pleased me.
What was notable was how much better KYB suspension has become since my Thunderbird.
Probably a size thing.
