It's a pity really. I'm too young to have capitalised on getting a 'shovel' before the price went bonkers.
Get a cheap Evo while you can then. They'll do the same eventually.

and yet you would need to spend another 20k on it at least to make it look proper.

those forks, wheels, seat, rear guard, rear shocks tank bars and gauges all have to go.

Wouldn't cost anywhere near twenty grand, and it's the route I'd be going. 750 rep is the only way I'd have it.

Would be too. Only way it'd happen is if someone else paid for it.

also junk the frame and get a Trackmaster. Or get Richard Pollock to build you one.

So that leaves just the motor at this point that we have retained... its easy to spend another $20k on this. In fact lets buy this, yank the motor, and build our hypothetical bike around that. then sell the old shitter bits........

but with the induction on the right and exhaust on the left.

or that buell XBRR motor, because at this point money is no object.

I think our racing team might have some money left over after the McIntosh.

I am calling it Team Knobsolete at this point for want of a better name. Thinking a sort of pink leathers/purple helmet, brown bike might be the go.

Got rid of those stupid high left pipes - check. Got rid of the silly seat - check. Put on some decent bars - check. Put the footpegs where they should be on a real Harley - check. The perfect XR1000.
