What the hell are they thinking?

I've seen a tidy turbo set-up on a Sporty, it was mounted just on front of where the carb usually sits.

Actually its not. As a "cruiser" engine V-twins are horrible. The shake and rattle.
A boxer 4 or inline 4 would be a better cruiser engine. Or boxer/inline 6.

The biggest and best "cruiser" cars were actually straight 8's.

You might wanna hold back on offering opinion then.

A low revving twin is good in a cruiser. Big torque and slow revving is perfectly smooth enough when used for it's intended purpose.

A Harley will jump around at idle, but sitting at 1500-3000rpm they're happy as a pig in shit.

Try the Softail with the balance shafts mate. Don't bounce around at all.

That'd be a good reason for me not to get a soft tail.

It's a pity really. I'm too young to have capitalised on getting a 'shovel' before the price went bonkers.
