Should be track length on one of the notice boards in the club rooms. Have a look on Sunday and let us know

Ah there it is! I knew Mt Wellness had to be shorter. Ken the farmer and I were doing approximately 33.9s laps. I can't say for sure as my timer wasn't picking up the laps properly.

    Mt Wellington May 2014

Bloody good weekend of racing that was! Roys hill, gap weekend, Taupo, Edgecumbe, Mt Welly. What a good run of racing weekends, I'm definitely feeling better on my bike after all of it too. I think riding on Taupo track 2 has probably helped the most. Lets get back there soon!

I had a good battle with Steve booth (one a piece) in the points races and an even better pair of duals with Henk in the Dominic Howe trophy races. I ended up with a 3rd and a 2nd. My body aches.
I managed to drop half a second off my best time around Mt Welly too which I'm pretty damn stoked about. PB now 30.751.

Quick note here, the top four riders on the grid today (although with mixed results) were: Nathaniel (2t), Rick (2t), Gary (2t), Kel (2t).

Here's a bunch of photos, thanks to the old boy for shooting again, always appreciated.

Nathaniel once again took away the win for every race today. Good racing sir!
NOTE - 4 2 strokes all at the pointy end

What are you doing in the grass there Kel?

I think the 550m on the wall in the clubrooms is wrong. The kart club use 495m in their timing system for average speed calculations. Tim

    Thanks Jibber^

Last weekend was a pretty damn interesting first round of the AMCC Auckland series!

Aaron Hassan was riding the Morgan RSFXR and set a new anti-clockwise lap record of 28.806! however was having trouble staying on his stead and came off a few times. He DNF the prelim, placed 9th in race one and 3rd in race two.

Tim was battling fiercely with Nathaniel on his Aprilia RS50 in F5, it was a brilliant race! Tim came through in first in the prelim, and got two second places in the races not without making Nathaniel work hard for it. Nathaniel doing 30.4s laps and Tim doing 30.8s laps on 50cc bikes is just, well, stupid! I got some of the race on video from my iphone which I'll put up sometime soon.

Kamil, Rob and Darren made up the rest of the F5 field and swapped places about a million times. Rob had the edge in power but couldn't hold em back. Great racing!

Steve Booth, Henk, Will, Kamil and I had a solid tussle in F4 A grade. I improved the whole weekend setting a PB in practice on Saturday and then dropping it again in the racing on Sunday, being 30.708. That's the first time I was able to post consistent 30s laps and I'm stoked. Whilst I didn't post the fastest times during the races, I tried to be as consistent as I can and hold any lead I could get in the start. I finished 4th in the prelim with Henk right on me finishing 0.4s behind. In the first points race I again got in front of Henk and managed to hold him off the whole race with him and Steve finishing within 0.9s of me in 3rd! My best result helped by Aaron and Gary crashing out. The last race I placed 6th with everyone staying on their bikes and Steve somehow passing around the outside of us into turn one of the race. Tip of the hat for that one! Again I annoyed Henk by not letting him through and finished with a massive smile on my face.

    The race to watch!

Cully had his bucket sidecar project on display for all to oogle over. Very impressed Cully, we all can't wait to see how it turns out!

When are we going to see your lump of heavy and sharp again?
Might have to steal your engine at some stage once we work out how to put an FXR in the hub Center frame.

Well doesn't look like my Big Wednesday ticket did any good tonight so when my wife finds a job that actually pays.
