I have to get all new riding gear but don't know if the budget will stretch to Klim (generous Kiwi Biker discount not withstanding ) although I will acknowledge right here that its awesome gear and is on my wish list.

Once you have some pricing up I will then look at options and budget

I've ridden past them but never been in the shop, have to make a point of checking out the new show room.

Very knowledgeable and share that info without the normal pushy sales pressure of some places. And when my RST pants needed warrantly claim no drama or Spanish inquisition.
They sent them off straight away initially to be repaired but had brand new pair within about 4 working days.

Have bought decent tankbag, balaclava and the RST gear through them and usually get a little discount without even asking for it.
Years ago when I did writeups for motor news after taking out the demo Blackbird, came back and Mark let me take his personal Tiger Blade for a spin also.
Before Craig setup his workshop again used to take GSXR wheels out there for tyre changes.

Other than Barrys Point Rd, there is a new shop in Silverdale, Adventure Powersports. Andrew and Luke. Stocking great gear and they are good sorts.

Yes the Klim gear is in the top price range but the quality reflects that, and yes some one who has just bought a bike for 2k isn't going to spend a huge amount on riding gear.

Yes I must admit I wanted to make a splash guard for my new Beta 498 so I stole an oven tray from Debs oven, it was easier to seek forgiveness than permission.
Lots of shops in Auckland but loathe to recommend any of them.
Cycletreads used to be ok for gear/parts when they held stock but are focused on internet sales now.

Nic and Vikki at NV Motorcycles, Morrinsville....
You would have to ride off the main highways to find them, but being a Husqvarna dealership and Can-Am, would probably jump at Klim riderwear!

Thumbs up Check out the Klim gear

Ok thanks to everyone for your input, I really appreciate it.

I will be doing a world tour of the North Island for work and will have the Klim Badlands, Traverse and a bunch of other gear on board. I will be staying in the following towns on the dates listed. if you would like to have a look at the Klim gear I would be pleased to show it to you, if you have any friends that may be interested that would be good too.

I must stress this is not a pressure sales trip, I don't have to earn a commision, there are no red dot specials or free ginsu knives so you are welcome to have a look and I will not be pushing people to buy anything, however if you are interest we will talk.

    Napier, Monday 28th July
    Tauranga, Tuesday 29th & Wednesday 31st
Auckland, Friday 1st August to 6th August
    New Plymouth, Thursday 7th August
    Palmerston North, Friday 8th August
Wellington Saturday 9th August & Sunday 10th August

Monday 11th my passport runs out so back on ferry (if the propeller hasn't fallen off) and home.

Happy to catch up in the evenings which for most people is easiest.

either reply on here or ping an E paul@delis.co.nz
    Cheers Paul

Just curious Paul, the Badlands Pro has been out about 3 years now in its current form. The Adventure Rally has just received a big update in 2014, how long until the Badlands gets the same revision, do you know?

Good point, not sure other than it is one of the biggest sellers with its current specs so I would say at this stage it will get its improvements every year as technology improves but it seems they have a winning formula and sticking with it as it is still a hugely popular jacket and pants.

Good to see the local pricing, not too bad at all by way of US comparisons.
