Speaking of the lindis pass and things beyond ones ability, reminds me of the time I thought it was good to tempt fate by wheeling in 2nd and 3rd gear loaded with touring luggage cause my speedo was on 66,666.66 km travelled by Tarras junction??? on the other side of pass... Bit of a lean, crossed up landing, oncoming car, nearly didn't end well... stopped doing wheelies after that.
I blame the extreme cold and lack of feeling in my toes!
Every great cause begins as a movement, becomes a business, and eventually degenerates into a racket - Eric Hoffer
I mentioned just this thing in another thread. BlueWing put bikes on the market at a silly price, eventually it dawns on them that people are buying Suzukis or whatever for less, so they drop a few grand off the price. Guaranteed to piss-off the few owners who already bought one. I bought my Hornet after I heard that the price had dropped by $2000.
The new 650 Honda looks nice but at $14,000 it costs the same as the new Yamaha 900 triple. I would buy a new Honda again, but only after the cold winds of economic reality blew through the corridors at BlueWing. Meantime my Triumph is fine thanks
There is a grey blur, and a green blur. I try to stay on the grey one. - Joey Dunlop
In 1987 I bought a brand new Honda GB400TT Mk 2 for $4399 from Sawyer Honda in Adelaide Rd in Wellington.
They then dropped the price to $3999 about six months later. At the time that really pissed me off.
Speaking of which there seems to be a lot of new CB1100F's for sale on tardme by Honduh dealers at $15995, which is the price they should have been from day 1.
Directly competitive with the Bonneville, Harley Sportster*, Guzzi V7 and every other retro-standard out there at that price.
They've probably fucked the market for them though and no one will want them: particularly as the new model has ABS and a six speed transmission as standard
* You do get to pay a bit of "Harley tax" if you want to own a sportster but it is in the ballpark.
I thought elections were decided by angry posts on social media. - F5 Dave
A bit like the Desmosedici - don't try riding one in traffic in a West Australian summer!
If you lust after an RC30 - just do it - better to regret having done something than not doing something!
I still get vexed over the immaculate low mileage, non raced OW01 in New Plymouth Motorcycles I couldn't quite afford back in 97! Shaun was a salesman there at the time and tried to get me interested - I was interested, just not quite single enough at the time! It was about $12k or something, if I recall......

Piss off....they fall over if ya don't put ya feet down
I've got plenty (the missus would say too many) of two wheeled toys but chairs and sports quads can bar me up as well. Had to give up my off road bikes and get a quad due to rooted knee (no cruciate ligament and not much cartilage), I still miss my dirt bikes though...her indoors was really pissed off when I bought the CCM but that only gets used on gravel. He who dies with the most toys wins

Hmm Bluewing pricing.
I picked up my Hornet 900 for $9,999 new on a discounted discountThey were $15k when first introduced.
Predator Came in at $19,999 pointless price for me to even consider a 'upgrade'. They ran them out at $15,000 in the end - if they had come in at that price bet they would have sold more.
Suzuki cream out the world overstocked model each year with Summer Fest. GSXR's Bussas etc - given fuck all changes between years saving big coin on last years model is good buying.
Meh. Where's the crate of Bollinger, substances, two hookers and a penthouse suite option?
