Olympic is where I used to go, that's where Nici has been going of late too.

Be keen for a chat though. Could go for a ride as well

I started going to the gym 2 years ago. Chubby 1.73m 66kg. I'm now 82kg and less chubby. I'm fit enough to do most physical tasks with ease. I'll start my diet again soon to lose the excess weight and hopefully get down to 8% body fat at about 75kg in 2-3 months. I can lose 2kg in a good week, 1kg in a slow week if I stick to my training. #shredforsummer #firsthashtagonkiwibiker.

I moved to America and got fatter. I now have 2 extra inches on the waist (34") So really need to get back to it.

I love big bags. Bashing the shit out of those is where I get my giggles. They have a 20kg next door - which is a bit light for me, but will be good for me to get back to it.

Food in US is way more fattening than NZ. NZ fast food isn't actually too bad - it got better about 8+ years ago.

No. He doesn't have any money, so it's just a hobby.

Certainly doesn't conjure the same image in one's mind.

    I'm 65, soon to be 66.

I have had a lifetime of various sports - from rugby to football, table tennis, squash, cricket, basketball, netball, volleyball - the list goes on.

These days it is ballroom dancing. My partner and I dance competitively at A grade level. This involves dancing 4 and 5 dance events - usually several in a night. We have danced 60 routines in one night but more usually we will dance half that number. Research out of Germany reckons that dancing a 5 dance event is equivalent to running 1500 metres, in terms of energy expended anyway.

Obviously, physical fitness is essential to do this stuff. It also requires mental fitness - we have to evade loonies on the floor who don't take notice of other competitors in their way and generally lack floorcraft, we have to be prepared to vary a routine at a second's notice without looking like we have totally fucked up. We have to move our arses without looking like we are trying.

I don't think I have had to train as hard for any other sport I have participated in. The combination of physical and mental effort, the fact that there are two of you working together (well...trying to anyway), the combination of movement and balance all go to make up a very demanding discipline.

Oh, and yes - you get to dance with lots of hot chicks as well...hurhurhur

    Fuck.

We've been drawn against a Division 1, Over 30's side in the cup on Saturday. I think the answer to HDC's question is likely to be "Not fit or strong enough".

Completely unfit, and as weak as piss.

Probably should do something about it, but just too lazy really.

Might start with giving up the fags, and see what happens from there.
Riding cheap crappy old bikes badly since 1987

Lost 26kg in 8 months, got into the best shape Ive physically been in in my entire life, and by a long shot, the fittest Ive ever been.

Happier at home, happier at work, which has been noticed with several promotions, healthier food tastes better, and a lot of doors have opened for me as a result that has massively improved the quality of my life.
    What did you do?????
