I think that your concerns are valid there is a lot to be suspicious and wary of but that has been the case since the beginning of time!

    But what about the motives?
    Their morals or ethics?
The paycheck or the job & its description? How far will the scumdogs go when ordered, when people want change?

Well it can't get here soon enough for me. Crime is epidemic and we have a whole generation of brain damaged ADHD kids with no sense of right or wrong emerging into a society with no jobs for them.
The zombie apocalypse is here. Alcohol will probably subdue them for another decade or so then we will have a tidal wave of disaffected non acheivers running rampant.
A police state does create many jobs so in a paradoxical way it may even out...

Looks like the fun ended today anyway with the announcement of new speed limits, 60-80k on low volume rural highways. Eg all the good stuff that bikes like to play on.

Trouble is, a police state is probably not likely to be too concerned about them.

Just thinking about organising a protest march will be more likely to see you incarcerated.

In addition (holy shit I agree with Katman) Crime tends to flourish in a police state and corruption goes through the roof

Just a thought. Couldn't John Key get the NSA office in Auckland to check XKeyScore to see if the Warner Brothers email was actually sent?

The real problem is that the things you need to hide are entirely subjective... Whats OK now might not be OK in a few years time and some throw away line typed into a internet forum, dredged up 5 years later and taken out of context might bite you hard...
