Spent most of this weekend,working on the sidecar transporter, it's had a roof leak so I needed to put a new vent in as the old one was cracked and had a couple of tubes of silicone used on it by the previous owner, that all turned to crap as the new vent is slightly bigger so had to do a bit of modifying, now I need to get a bit of 25mm ply to make a new frame for it all to bolt to and that'll be all done

While I was doing that I started to fix the cargo guard in place so all our gear in the back wont kill us in an accident, got one off TM for $50 and it's just been sitting in place since Wangas last year so I just worked out what I needed to bolt in in place then got a couple of sheets of plywood to cover it which should let the heater warm the cabin area a bit better and give us a bit of protection is stuff goes wrong

I also worked out how I'll mount some tyre racks off the side of the body about half way up to give us some more floor space although I'm not sure if that'll get done by the BSTT

Suppose you need lots of liquid for a trip in the papersnail. I swapped out all the old dim lights in the motorhome for LED strips today. Can at least see when the batteries are going flat now

Wot you talkin bout, it's early...I'm not drunk yet. I just went out to check the lumins. Gunna need them in our pit at night time now. Holy shit thems bright

I swapped out all the old dim lights in the motorhome for LED strips today.

Just looking at doing some LEd lighting, it's got fittings in the back for small fluro tubes and it looks like there's an LED bulb that fits and works if you take the starter out

Couple of times loading up at night with no lights in the rear has been a real prick

Yep I just bought a strip in a roll and cut off suitable lengths to fit (peel and stick) and solder them in the place of the fluoro tubes and just used the existing housing, switches and diffuser covers. Probably works out cheaper to buy it that way than pre-made lights. Got heaps left over so might look at a way of using some in my classics for day riding lights.

$6.95 for 200mm LED strip vs $23 and upwards for pre made lights, not really a hard choice
