There's half a dozen different styles of paying a bass drum via a pedal and my style is described as "heel down" which allows me a wide dynamic range. To change to a heel up style requires that good old "10,000hrs" of practice and I'll be dead of old age by the time I get there due to a bunch of "life". Fusion would mean giving up playing to all practical intents and purposes.

Can't change to the other foot? Or do you use both?

I do use both and for a couple of different functions. I can play lefty but I still need to do stuff with the rooted right one, so it would require a technique rework that could probably benefit from some instructional overview. So then it becomes time and money.

A fusion or even a triple in my case hasn't removed all movement in my ankle mind you. I have a wee bit of vert movement. Guess it depends on the joints they want to fuse!

Didn't the FJR13 have option of push button gear change? Can't you rig up one for your drums?

Air shifter with a bar mounted trigger?

I have seen drag bikes with so they must be easy enough, probably even a kit for it.

From memory quick shifter of a kit that go up a gear if you blip an down a gear if you snap off. They also do a handlebar remote.

I have seen a quickshifter brand connected to a self centring toggle. Flick up to go up or down to go down.
That was on a Honda trike. Rider was on two walking sticks. Paralysed from just below the hips down. Brace with springs allowed him to walk but not move his feet volunteerily. Someone here may know who.

To be fair the god-awful clatter that engine makes should be right up a drummer's alley.

It can be swapped from bike to bike as/if you upgrade
