I put a new Vertex top end into the NX4 tonight and took some photos along the way for my own reference and interests.
Here they are if anyone else is interested.
NX4 cylinder next to a Suzuki GP125 cylinder with the RS base gasket laid over it. The B port shrouds have been cut out of this cylinder but otherwise it is stock at this time.

A bloody good days racing yesterday at Hampton Downs! I dropped 5 seconds! from my best time from round one to a best of 1 minute 19s.
Clearly I'm feeling a lot more confident on the bike and the fresh tires certainly helped too. I still have a mountain to climb though as I looked up the NZSBK HD races at the beginning of the year and the times were between 1.13 and 1.15.
I'm confident I can improve everywhere and I know where I can make up some big chunks of time to begin with.
Regardless it's a blast riding this thing, I love it!

What a gruelling day Sunday was! My body still aches
Congrats to Nathanael and Tim for the win, and to Rick and Henk for the A- trophy. You bastards were just too quick for us... for now...
Karl and I came 5th and did 222 laps which is a good improvement from last year. I'm stoked regardless.
Back to back race meetings for me continue with AMCC R3 this weekend and then Tokoroa the following weekend. I can't wait!

Jesus I love Tokoroa! The weekend went brilliant for me. I dropped 2.4 seconds from the last time I was there for the GP earlier in the year which considering I haven't really done anything to the bike I'm pretty happy with! Rod kept me honest though and it was one a piece between him and I until he had to stop racing for fear of killing his Derbi. I got in front of 'Ken the no longer farmer' a few times but the whiley bastard is fast! and he came through shortly after. I'll get you soon enough Ken!
The sun, grassy pit area, back yard cricket, beers, fierce racing, good people and camping really make this event a total favourite of mine. It was well worth bailing on the tri series event for, even if it meant I was racing a FXR/wet paper bag instead of my RS125. A massive thanks to all the rad people who ran the event and to those who turned up to keep challenging me!
The old man really surpassed himself this time, with some of his best shots to date I think. Check the link below for more. Enjoy.

p.s. I got some GoPro footage from the racing (notice the 3M nose mount on my bike) that I will process when I get a moment.
You're really leaning that thing over Bert!

Wow, superb work Simon. Really enjoyed the battles with you Chris, shame you wont be at Taumaranui - and shit that Mk2 Ford is every bit as fast as his dad !!
great shots!!! hell bert gets that bike over . whats with that
I missed Taumaranuinuinuinui, and it sucked. I raced quite a lot at the end of 2014 though and I did just spend a bunch of time in the surf in Australia so no complaints.
Anyway, check out the first proper fit of the new RS fairings on this sucker. I can't tell you how excited I am to race again after watching the live web coverage of the nationals!
I wouldn't say that they fit amazing but the 04+ fairings are SO much better looking than the bulky pedrosa fairings that were on it. Time for some vinyl, anyone want to sponsor a hyper enthusiastic racer?
