Top end kit will run you about 150 bucks from the UK, 300 ish if you want a new cylinder too.

Mine hasn't really been ridden since I got the zx6 and I keep eyeing up ninja 250s with the notion of getting involved in production racing. You are welcome to arrange a test ride - even if you don't like my one you'll get an idea of what they are like to ride
Sorry I never saw your reply to this! Thanks for the offer of trying out your bike

    Bump, still looking though!

Also maybe someone on here can maybe help me track down a ZXR that was listed on trademe about 2 weeks ago... It was white and some red, listed in auckland and had a lot of maintenance work done to it like new fork seals, brake pads, valve clearances, clutch plate checks blah blah blah. Owner wanted 3900ono.
This is the only picture I can get of it as the auction has expired and I can't access it...

Does anyone know who owned the ZX7R in green white and purple on trademe. The seller was in waitakere city and wanted $4300 ONO.
Had a picture with his bike against the kerb and helmet on the seat

No it isn't but I am in love with that ZX7R and want to get it and keep it stored away until I get my full around this time next year. Still keeping my other bike I ride daily or getting a cheaper, smaller bike like a CBR125 as I mainly commute.

Could possibly have been the one that was taken off-road on Ridge road last Thursday night and is missing some of it's right-hand fairing...

Might not be as I can't remember what colour the wheels were, as they were covered in mud.

Yes that one! Where did you get the picture from?

I really hope it isn't wrecked...

Now that I think about it there was also another ZX7R listed with same colour scheme and everything but the seller said the headlight doesn't work and there were a few other issues.

This particual bike's headlight was working, that's how I figured it wasn't following me anymore

Had to turn around and head back to confirm. Might not be the same bike though, but the owner was new...

Aw fuck maaaan that honestly sucks so much. I saw the bike listed about 3 weeks ago and I dragged my feet about it. I should have taken the opportunity when I had the chance. So disappointed.

Did you talk to the guy? Did he say he was a new owner or something?
Really hoping it's not the same bike...

Like I said, not sure it is the same bike. Just happens to fit the timeframe/model/year. The owner said he'd upgraded from a 250, had not riden for over a year, and that this bike was new to him and he wasn't confident on the corners.

I think if you have a year until you get your full you should wait until then to buy a bigger bike. Save some more cash and get something better.

Storing a bike for a year can be done but quite a few problems can develop esp with the full system, tires can square off, parts rust etc. A bike that get regular use although having higher millage last much longer. In another year of riding what you want in a bike may change.

Yeah fair enough. I mainly just wanted that ZX7R as it was cheap and seemed to be in decent condition. May as well wait unless an awesome deal comes up. Haven't had any amazing ones.
However I am more and more tempted to get a cheap ZXR250 or CBR250
