    Yup.

Few people would deny the various god-botherers their right to their beliefs. Unfortunately it's not a reciprocal arrangement.

Most of their so-called "scriptures" require them to actively convert others to their beliefs. Methods range from door-knock badgering, to the mass slaughter of infidels.

So yes, being a god-botherer is everyone else's business. The god-botherer makes it so.

Exactly, and they manage to convert quite a few, even the more obviously fake religions like the mormons that's why athiests should be more vocal and more aggressive and stop trying to avoid offending these idiots, imagine the tax breaks we can all take if they start taxing the churches not to mention the amount of sway the major religions hold over the more influential countries, especially the USA, where you can't even hold office in most states as an athiest.

I think it was Christopher Hitchens that said something like "You have the right to be offended, you do not have the right not to be offended" Plenty of the things these retards say offend me like all the times they've told me I'm going to hell for my beliefs or when Muslims get away with statements like "Behead all those that offend Muhammad" Somehow they can get away with it but when I speak my mind I have often gotten into some strife for it.

Not necessarily, I have met some religious people who have never talked about their beliefs, just lived them.
There is a world of difference.

The ones that believe there is only one way, and one god, and everyone else is wrong or spout a whole heap of verbal diarrhea, but in no way live any of what they preach Are the ones that need to be offended the most. And anyone who tells me that they know the mind of god and have all the answers and spend way too much time defending themselves and their beliefs, is just a joke and not to be taken seriously.

Not neccessarily. Sikhs don't believe in converting people and believe that all religions are equal and capable of enlightening their followers.

I read god botherer = someone who attempts to convert others, ie JWs, Mormons, ISIL, etc. The quiet ones, Sikhs, etc are not bothering other people so not god-botherers
it's not a bad thing till you throw a KLR into the mix.

Sikh culture is pretty cool too. In terms of the whole "We like to live quietly but do not fuck with us" thing. Plus ceremonial daggers. Also beards and turbans are pretty cool.

Rereading my post I can see how it looks like I'm upset by the strife I tend to get into because of my beliefs, if that were the case I would just keep my mouth shut or lie and say I belive in the invisible man in the sky. To be offensive is often the goal, and the result is in most cases obvious from the outset.

The part that worries me is that while I do have problems resulting from what is essentially pointing out flaws in a fictional character the other side of the debate make threats ranging from eternal torture to real world threats of violence, torture and murder and seem to get away with it completely for the most part.

See not even the old buggers in Genesis were interested in pigs.
    Genesis 15:9New International Version (NIV)

9 So the Lord said to him, “Bring me a heifer, a goat and a ram, each three years old, along with a dove and a young pigeon.”

I do find it quite amusing that they all pray to the same diety, the individual beliefs seem to be based on how many times that diety found it necessary to revise and update his book. If he were all knowing and all powerful as claimed why would he need to revise it at all.

Also the fact that each person within each religion seem to have their own take on the lore, what it means and beliefs outside of the Bible and the Scriptures can be amusing. Aliens, ghosts and the weirdness in nature in particular can make for very interesting conversations with 'believers'.

A belief is just a thought you keep thinking.

But hang on .. the term "God Botherer" speaks for itself ... A God Botherer is a person who bothers God ... so Sikhs are definitely that ..

The people who attempt to convert others are pains in the arse ... as very different thing ..
