Not going to be the fastest process seeing as I'm 18 and earning 4 fifths of F.A but if I chip away I'm sure ill be on the track before I know it.

I'll be picking it up tonight so there will be a photo update this evening most likely.

Even sold my car and bought a ute to carry the bike which made me a little sad haha.

But ohwell, It'll be worth it in the end.

Good move.
Don't forget to tether your ramp to the Ute when ever you load or unload the bike.
Also, never attempt to ride up the ramp.

Looking forward to getting it quite tidy. Not too tidy though, as I'll probably drop it at some stage.

Luckily my ute is 2wd so not too high to get it on the ramp.

Looks pretty tidy from where I'm sitting....
Race bikes only have to look good in the photos, as nobody really gets up close...
That said, some of the cameras have a wicked zoom on them and can pick up splattered bugs from the other side of the track!

Yup, 2WD ute is best and I take it that you got a Double Cab.
Good move as you can lock your gear in the back seat... And you will accumulate a lot of gear!

Yeah, she's a double cab 2.5TD Mazda Bounty.

Currently working on accumulating the gear.

Still sorting boots, a back protector, a stand for the front wheel whilst on the ute, a folding bike ramp and Club membership and licence.

I never used a front stand
while on the ute, but I do have two anchor points that I have bolted to the very front of the tray about 1 metre apart.
Wrap the tie downs around the bottom triple clamp and gook it to them.

Folding bike ramp is a good investment, it sits behind the front seats when not in use....
Sadly at race tracks these days it pays to keep all your things secure.

Membership and licence, yup, sort that and you are away.

Then as finances allow extra stuff includes, but is not limited to:

2 Kg Fire Extinguisher (A must for every Race Bike, and you will need it to race)
Fuel container
Tyre pressure gauge, a darn good one!
Bike pump (Joe Blow are a popular choice because they last).
Socket Set
Ring and Open End Spanners
Hex Keys (Allen Keys)
7 Draw Tool Box
Hammer
G Clamp
Spare Brake Pads
Phillips Screw Drivers
Spare Handle Bars
Spare Foot Pegs and Hangers
Spare Levers
A range of sprockets

A Long Hollow Pipe... MTB Handle Bar works well.... Used to straighten bent things.

Magnetic Tray to put nuts and bolts in as you pull your bike apart.

a plastic box full of spare fasteners and things....

As I said, this list is not all of it.... But it gives you an idea....


It is good to get a "Team Mate" or at least somebody who will help you, so you don't have to shell out for lots of stuff at once.

Will need to build a small inventory of spares however as you have mentioned.

The one thing I'll say besides good buy, well done, is to not commit too much money to going racing to start with. Most people seem to quit racing after a couple of seasons or so and they're left with having spent lots of money but they don't get to recoup that. So for a while just make do instead of spending dollars.
