Flying a drone over primary school swimming pool

    http://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/ar...ectid=11410212

Okay, he's just a suspect at this stage, and it was the public swimming pool, but... what's the deal with the legality on preventing this sort of filming. If you were to say, happen to have a slingshot with you, and were an above average shot.

My mum recently had a real estate agent fly one over her backyard, and then later come around to offer a free valuation based on the footage (Ashburton). Her hydroponic ventures are limited to pretty much lettuce and tomatoes, but she could have any old thing growing in there - surely you have a right to privacy in your own yard? Guess it's not illegal for someone to look over the fence though.

Definitely some new ground here, and any laws are a long way off catching up.

    It is only pervy if....

He was clever enough to pilot the drone in and out of the changing cubicles....
    Now, that would take skills!

    Fucking flying go-pros now.

Even if I was about to sell if a real estate agent did that to me I'd tell them to F-off.

You can't pick ya nose at the traffic lights anymore without the threat of some arse videoing it and popping it on the net.

Fuck the drones, the problem here is the bloody hot air balloons. Go outside first thing to get catfood for the self appointed bosses of the house in a state of lets say, partial dress...Get away from any cover and some prick hits the burners about 100ft above you....Look up and there's 20 odd bloody tourists laughing at you...

I really must make a decent shanghai - and keep a supply of 5/8in ball bearings handy....

    100% click-bait.

I learned everything I know about journalism from the New Zealand media.

But I'm genuinely interested in the privacy issues created by drones and the general omni-presence of digital video recording devices.

I have attack drones ready to go at all times, and am prepared to release them.

Definitely - over 60 and exercising often results in a brown cloaking device so you are unlikely to see anything and may well result in the hunt for brown October...
