Okay, he's just a suspect at this stage, and it was the public swimming pool, but... what's the deal with the legality on preventing this sort of filming. If you were to say, happen to have a slingshot with you, and were an above average shot.
My mum recently had a real estate agent fly one over her backyard, and then later come around to offer a free valuation based on the footage (Ashburton). Her hydroponic ventures are limited to pretty much lettuce and tomatoes, but she could have any old thing growing in there - surely you have a right to privacy in your own yard? Guess it's not illegal for someone to look over the fence though.
Definitely some new ground here, and any laws are a long way off catching up.
