Yep guns in the States are universally used successfully in self defense. I've never heard of a case of it going wrong, and it's definitely not true that a gun you own in the States is overwhelmingly more likely to be used against you.
Stop wasting your breath, he can't hear you over the deafening sound of freedom.
mixnmatch statistics on it. But two consensi:
1) americunts are fuken stupid.
2) many places in the world, increases in (legal)firearm ownership, leads to decreases in firearms crime.

Not quite. From what I've read, it isn't firearms crime that decreases, it's all the other stuff. Burglaries, muggings, fights in bars etc.
That obnoxious little prick in the bar might be pissing you off, but you don't smack him in the mouth, you let it pass because he's probably carrying.
In places with high gun ownership burglary is an unattractive proposition. Even the hoods can understand what is likely to happen if they stick their head in somebody else's window.
Gotta go now the vinho tinto is kicking in.![]()

I lived for many years in New Hampshire in the US, to own a hand gun you had to be over 18 and produce photo ID. You had to carry in plain view and needed a special permit to carry a concealed weapon.
We never locked our house, our bikes were always safe ,there was very little petty crime and I never saw a bar fight or a road rage incident. What you did see was a lot of people in the supermarket with a block on their hip.
We were there on Sept 11th and a lot of Americans believe if they had of been allowed to carry guns on planes there would never have been the events that happened.
I believe if you outlaw guns only outlaws will have guns.
crime in general, then.
Again, ie, in areas where carry is legal, the disincentive exists. If you can knock off the bank, knowing the po are 15 minutes off, game on.
If you go into the same bank, and granny, billy bo and that gorgeous blondie are all packin heat, your odds are a lot lower.
In fact, you don't.
The public isn't able to, because an "assault" rifle is capable of full-auto fire. The public cannot purchase one of these BUT they can purchase a "civilian version" which ISN'T capable of full-noise.
Nice attempt at regurgitating the propaganda though.

So, Sweden, which is well up there with gun ownership (although stats are skewed because a lot of the guns in houses are actually government owned so don't appear on the stats), your ass will be thrown in jail if you pull a gun/shoot a guy for trying to steal your t.v. I believe there are rules for the level of response to the level of threat/crime etc. Seems to work way better than free for all, mainly because most people are to stupid to make the right choice when given it.
True.
That is how it is where I am. Although open carry is legal in Oregon I have yet to see someone doing so. You are required to have a concealed carry permit to pack heat in your pocket so you never know who might be packing and that can be a deterrent to someone thinking of doing bad things.
Yep
You know fuck all on this topic other than what the media spoon feeds you.
