Broken inlet rubbers - GSXR 750 1993

Hey Guys,

I have a gsxr 750 93. The inlet rubbers have cracked and causing a vacuum leak and won't start from the key. Only way to get it to start is by bump starting it. I have tried almost all the bike wreckers I can for replacement ones and I've tried a couple of bike shops for replacement ones from jap but none of them are getting back to me at all. Basically want to know if you guys know any techniques for fixing them of maybe a set that would fit from another year bike or something? I'm just out of ideas really.

Any help you can provide would be huge.

A Vacuum leak ... as in a leak in the vacuum line between the tank and the carbs .. ???

As in a leak that is letting air in caused by the giant splits in my inlet rubbers

Have in the past dealt with similar problems...on single carb bikes.
if inlet manifold is straight you could try to find hose that fits over cracked rubber...
for one bike a friend machined metal manifold, over which I fitted rubber of right diameter.

have you actually tried asking a Suzuki agent ? My experience locally is that while on the phone they will check the parts fische and tell you price and availabilty. Might not be cheap but it will be the correct fix.

While I understand I can get them on ebay, I just have fears of being screwed over or getting the wrong part etc. When the parts are going to cost 250 to get them here, I just can't bring myself to do it yet. It's a last resort after I've exhausted all other options. I had a google, but couldnt find a number for suzuki direct, I've checked with the suzuki bike shops but none of them are calling me back. Currently, i've used window weld and given them a good coating on the cracks with it. It's working well by the looks of it. I've just tried starting my bike and its firing up nicely, no vacuum leak idle. it'll be interesting to see how it holds up but i think this will only be a temp fix until i can sort something better. I love my bike and don't like half assing anything on it. I do appreceate everyone input though, it has been helpful

With regards to getting ripped off, I use Paypal for Ebay purchases and with the only Ebay transaction that went bad (pirated software from China that was supposed to be legit) the Paypal disputes process got my money refunded very quickly.

However use Western Union at your peril.

Fwiw ive been buying bits for my old Suzuki off ebay for many many years and never had a problem,tis not a bulky item so post will be minimal and then theres the fact that i can generally get something from say...Germany etc to my door quicker than NZ post can from Auckland,in many cases the money saved by buying overseas far outweighs the post cost anyway ie a set of Carrozzeria rims/high end chain and sprockets from the states cost give or take $1700 less than if i had bought them here,another being a TLR 6 bolt cluch cost $146 to my door from Germany inclusive of post when a bike wrecker up north wanted $400 plus post.
