Here is a review from a U.K. site

They make the point that the Suzuki SV isn't that much different in price.
Are you looking for a new or used? Because for around 11 grans you may even buy lams Harley.

Heh, I've never had an opportunity to test too many bikes around 10-11k. Sellers look at me and don't trust that I can afford any of them. I've managed to test GV650 once. It feels much better then ST7, s40 especially in corners and looks cooler(IMHO the most important indicator for a L rider!).
There are not so many used LAMS 650 bikes on the market. Basically there are s40 and gv650 (sometimes some old bikes, but those you may wait ages to appear). S40 feels like a cafe racer tractor, but I believe there are plenty of riders that would disagree. GV650 feels awesome but used bikes are too expensive now. There 3-4 bikes have been for a while on the market at 7-8k, but for me this is beyond a point when I would definitely buy a new bike with warranty.

S40 is a single banger isn't it?
There are a few others in that style/bracket out there, V Star and Vulcan spring to mind, although I think Vulcans are singles too?
From memory (could be wrong) nothing is close to the GV on power. A few will 'ride' better though.
As you've touched on man you can read, guess and ask till the cows come home but it all goes out the window once you actaully get to ride the models you're looking at and decide first hand, as your opinion is the only one that really matters when it comes to what bike you want/need.
Another plus for anything under 600cc is cheaper rego, but that shouldn't be at the cost of enjoyment otherwise what's the point.

Yup correct the S40s are single bangers, the Kawa Vulcan 500s are inline twins all the other Vulcans are V twins.

Idd pay an extra G for this.
Or the new Vulcan 650 is the same price as a GV.
I have evolved as a KB member. Now nothing I say should be taken seriously.
