WANTED: Suspension guru in auckland that is comfortable teaching a class

Hi can anyone point me in the right direction of a suspension specialist in Auckland that is comfortable teaching a class of newbies on how your suspension works, how damping adjustments affect the ride and also end with a technical aspect where we set up our bikes for the correct sag to suit our weight?

We would have about 10-15 people ready to attend, pricing dependent.

Cycletreads dont bring him here, he does it himself. Best money Ive spent in a long while and I know my way around suspension.

The one thing I do know 100% is how to externally set up motorcycle suspension and sag settings etc. Proven with 3 Isle of Man TT wins on suspension and bike set up all done by myself.

would love to check over what he has done out of interest- the amount of bikes I have set up over the last 15 years for road customers that another person/s had already done is incrediable, but was still way way away from the best it could be really be is not funny mate. The difference my technique is i AM a Rider and a Road Racer from the past, where as most suspension people in this country could not ride a road bike fast to save them self, So they are only using book learned technique, rather than REAL world experience. NOT KNOCKING your man at all mate, just saying in generall.

PS, normally in the past I would charge $60-00 to do what I do.

Lucky for mine the spring didnt have to be set up.
All he does is set up the bike for my weight.
Only took him 10 mins. So he just charges you for his time.

You could do it at home yourself if you have the tools and a helper. I just couldnt be bothered.
Actually for mine i could have easily done it as i have the exact same bike as that keith code video.

Hi. I thought if it is stock suspension you couldnt do much to it anyway. i mean yes it could probably be tweaked a bit more but for my skill level and for what i am trying to do on the track (have fun, not race) i thought it was good enough.

Yes, Keith code has learned a lot of things from riders. His first book " Twist of the wrist" was my bible for racing until the day crashed and stopped haha. But there are things NOT in his set up show, and there are 2 suspension experts in this country that MISS these incrediably vital points to the handling of a motor bike as well, and that is where I come in. I totally understand there points, as well as my own critical points that are so important to the handling of a motorcycle also. So many riders send there suspension away to a specialist to have it re built or modified or what ever and spend a ton of money on having this done, where in the first place critical prior points were missed. Setting suspension sags and pre load is idiot prove mate as long as you have the base numbers to work from and the correct tools so as not to mark/scratch/damage anything. A part of any ones trade is knowledge, and I have 26 years of history behind me now as a rider/racer/chassis suspension set up man. I have an impecable charactuer reference for my understanding and set up and feed back skills as a test rider for example. I will not bring names into it, but can and did provide copy of this reference to any one I did work for in the past. I am currently not working due to old racing injuries acting up big time again. Stay in touch with the op of this thread man, as there may just be a spot for you in the group he sets up for this. Suspension is about feel, and not what a computer or a book tells you, they are only guide points really.
