Donations for genuine charities should be tax deductible, but let's define charities as those run by volunteers. By all means blame the governments that gave charities that spend most of the donations "in-house" tax exempt status, but don't blame those who dug into their own pocket to help. An ethical solution is pretty simple, make the exemption relative to the amount actually hitting the target.
Also, most of the big philanthropic contributors don't actually use existing organisations, they set up their own charitable trusts where they've got control over "costs", (cough), and the books for most of those are pretty transparent.
I think you had better spend sometime on google ..... As Im sure you do not understand the Tax benefits the US gives for Donations to charities
