Adventure-bike accessible huts?

Is there a list of huts with bike access??
2 reasons I ask,, !> planning a trip and too much of a sissy to tent it.
2>not clever enough to find out for myself.

Other than Remote Moto, nope!

You can compare the tramper.co.nz (or newish flashy DOC one) to WAMs to work out where you think you can get to, and then jump on the bike or call DOC/land owners from there where required. WAMs is really quite brilliant for this sort of thing, other than not having the huts on there itself.

Another easy way would be to give a few 4x4 clubs and bell and see where they recommend.

Here's the RemoteMoto search result.... Huts only list. You can use the second dropdown on that search to show only huts or hotels etc.

Or to see them on the map just go to the route maps page and deselect some of the check boxes to make them easier to see.

If you need points to unlock routes all you need to do is take a few minutes to submit a couple of simple reviews of your gear like helmet, boots, jacket, camping mat, cooker, tent, gps or what have you, include a picture of item as proof you have used it and you'll be good too.
Most of the time at the moment one decent review generally gets enough points for two unlocks.
Or paypal works too.

Yep, what area?. We keep an eye out for huts to visit on our travels & there are some cool moto accessible ones around. Not so many in the North Is though.

x3 on Remote Moto - the way Josh has all the huts labelled on the routes makes it easy to scroll around the map & check out the ones with huts.

haha yeah she can be a bit confusing to start with. Basically purple lines are good to go, purple lines that venture into green areas are often good to go but sometimes require prior checking

Also don't bother with it on a phone, really needs a PC to not be pulling your hair out while looking, and it usually resets in the first 40 seconds so wait for the OK box to pop up again and then you're good to go

I'm afraid I am a bit skeptical over the usefullness of the WAMS for our thing, I can see 3 purple lines locally that I know either do not exist at all or are all locked up. Clicking the 4WD icon I could see no changes.

When does the North kick off?

On the plus side, RemoteMoto now supports the North Island and has implemented a new feature where North Island riders can upload routes and get paid. On the downside, quite a number of North Island riders have submitted routes to RemoteMoto, however so far all of them were rejected because the quality simply wasn't up to scratch.

I am very appreciative of the kind feedback that users of RemoteMoto either email or tell me in person. The feedback is often directed towards the high level of quality content, great photos and accurate information. The simple truth is, the high-quality content is what separates RemoteMoto from some of the free or low quality websites out there. I apologise if any of the riders that have had rejected articles are reading this, the simple truth is, to maintain the high level of quality the bar is set high. It's not impossible to get routes published however, a handful of riders have been contributing with one rider in particular doing a cracking job and has logged 56 routes and counting!

The route contributions are very helpful to build RemoteMoto into a quality rider's resource, however it has still taken the better part of seven years to ride and log the content plus build the website which is still under active development (with many new features due for release shortly). It has been seriously hard work but of course it has been mixed with some spectacular riding and some epic trips. Basically the South Island is approximately 50% complete. Logging the North Island in the same high-quality and comprehensive fashion will be no easy feat and another intensive multi-year effort. The good news is, initial discussions are underway involving a well-known player in the adventure riding community taking on the North Island. This will fast-track process for the North Island riders. I won't let the cat out of the bag just yet though, more to follow soon…

That's kinda what I do too. Rather than having to have a bucket list of must see places I look for areas I haven't been yet.
Go on DOC site, find it pretty good for searching hut areas, then read the access description, usually says if 4WD road/access then check on topo maps and google.
If in doubt just go for a ride, the worst is you find a locked gate.
