French secret agent saboteur says sorry for fatal Greenpeace bombing 30 years ago

Heard on the news this am, that one of the frogmen who limpet mined the Rainbow Warrior in Auckland admitted it was overkill..
He was reported as being sorry for using a bomb, & regretted the death caused - but not for the act of sabotage - per se..

Yeah, so now the ABC has played a brief interview with one of those bozos..

He claimed they were "soldiers, following orders."

Which if, true - meant they ought to have been shot as spies for criminal sabotage, acts of undeclared war,
& not ransomed for money, or handed over - due to threats from bully-boy France.

It pissed me off that he wasn't asked if he regretted being busted in little ol' NZ,
    - for being a 1/2 arse & an embarrassment to France with their bunglingly amateurish level of incompetence & ineptitude..

Works - if you win.. even if you get busted, & your boss cuts a deal..
but - not so good for the Jordanian combat pilot shot down by ISIS.. even being a co-religionist didn't help him..

As this happened in NZ, could he apply to ACC for compensation for the anguish and torment he has been living with??

He has admitted he was working. I doubt his employer paid the relevant levy for an occupational demolitions guy and girl.

AFAIR - they got the French Medal of Honour for their splendide perfomance against the dastardly enemies of liberte..
& that means they get a fat bonus pension in retirement..

If NZ were Israel, they'd have been drowned 'trying to escape', & sent France a big bill - to get their carcases returned.. intact..

Yep.. they get you to sign off on 'mandatory safety education courses' - so they can claim its your fault, 'hey we trained you, but you didn't follow it!'

There was a reason he wasn't asked that...he got away. The bloke that planted the mines wasn't one of the pair that were caught. The full team was 13-strong.
