Going against everything we have talked about, and making the swingarm fixed length. There will be a tensioner to hold the slack to stop chain whip, and to act as a sort of cush drive.

what sort of tensioner? I feel you may be disappointed with the result if it is some sort of spring arrangement.

The same as what was on there, I'll put a weak one on the drive side and a strong one on the bottom.

I'm not really results orientated, I'd be more interested in lap time improvements over who I beat (if anyone)

While they're doing that maybe they could set a disc brake up on the countershaft as well

Well I did think his problem in the first place was how long and difficult it was to change to wets...With no brake to worry about it would be easier....

But no, i actually meant the idler sprocket system ATK used - which i'm told by the owner of one, actually does work...

We've looked at an idler before. But it was going to really fuck the suspension up, so we went with the primary chain to a midd point shaft.

The reality of the current situation is pretty simple. Motivation is at an all time low. We haven't ridden the bike in nearly a year, and when we did we got average results. So we're getting it going with the most basic system to make, that still gives the handling advantages we are after.

Right. So it was amateur hour when I was welding with the Tig. I had the wrong electrode in there for mild steel, and had to have the amps ramped up to make up for it.

Luckily, you can only buy 8m lengths from Steel and tube...so we've got some spare.

    A learning experience.

they can be but are way more forgiving than migs, i've struggled with even welds for a while but seem to have cracked it now, practice and not changing lots of settings at once, and of course the right tip helps. best thing is you can run over a weld again, remelt it where you don't get that option with mig
