It's a pain in arse when the diffuser is how the beam is directed, rather than the bulb rotation. I've managed to modify the mounting points of the bulbs to get them slanted the other way. On those bikes, only low beam is slightly skewed.

Never had one of those mufflers apart to see if it's got packing..i'd suggest a soak in caustic if it doesn't have packing. They're a one piece system too - bugger.
You can at least clean out the headers fairly easily. Flex drive on a good drill does it. Wound curtain hanging wire makes a good flex drive and it's easy enough to put a wire brush on the end. I'd seriously doubt if even a good thrash would clean out much baked on carbon.

Funny, after pioneering Nippon liquid cooled production bikes back in the `70s with their GT 750 & RE 5..
..Suzuki tried to be clever with the bloody flimsy slabby-flabbies & spray heaps of oil around inside instead..

No wonder it found its way into the pipes.. but hey, at least it stopped 'em rusting out, eh.. give 'er heaps, like a 2T, shit'll burn out..

Not an 1100, but I just bought this little sweetie sight unseen.
Pic should stay up for a couple of days until the funds show his end.

Most definitely not a donor bike, I have a spare 4 or 5 hundred for one of those, but this one is far too good.
I got it as a wedding anniversary present for my wife. Same method as I used to get the '66 R50 BMW I got her last year that I enjoy riding.
Do you know Gary that owned it? a British gentleman about your age.

It will only be a donor bike by the time you pricks have all finished thrashing it.

I don't doubt that for a second, you'd probably overhaul the whole engine for $500 too.

Yeah, big time, can hardly understand him.
