I was going to suggest poking your nose into the N.Z. Adv riding site, but Eddie beat me to it

The roads north of Ohura and towards Raglan are pretty scenic and you don't need to spend to much time on the seal. Kiwi rd is worth a look, also Tarata rd, although a little out of your way. When Leaving Fonganui take the Papaiti rd off the end of Somme parade and follow your nose

I use a "Kiwimaps" map book, either North or South isl. depending on where I am, which is pretty good. It shows most of the roads, both sealed and un sealed, aswell as quite a few 4WD tracks. But I'm a wee bit old skool
