Sounds like it must have been an actual backfire then, as you wouldn't think an afterfire (what you generally see refereed to as a backfire) would cause a fire. Mind you, if there was a bird's nest in the Harley Fergusson's exhaust flapper that could do it...

Not all Harley's have low self esteem![]()
I love the smell of twin V16's in the morning..
In our rural area, there are two or three shed fires a summer caused by birds nesting in tractors.....
Provides an interesting question though doesn't it? (Well for those who have more than one bike). You have time to save one bike ... which one do you save?
Grow older but never grow up
Must be a Harley thing....
I got a call from a mate with a Harley once asking if I could call over for a look see as his steed was not starting.
Walked into his shed to the sound of him cranking it over hard out throttle twisted wide and the sight and smell of petrol running out the exhaust kids running around everywhere and his lady standing there smoking a farking ciggie holding a baby!!!.
He didn't like the way I spoke to him that day so he ended our friendship the cheeky bastard.lol.
But... but... they're on TV![]()
Three bikes chained to the floor (Oxford chains & locks) keys all look the same. Each bike has an Oxford disc alarm lock, keys all look the same, each bikes steering is locked. I'll be able to save nothing. And I can thank the lovely people that broke into my garage, and stole my WR a year ago as to why I'm paranoid

I have a fire extinguisher in the car and one in the garage. Not that that would be much use I suspect.

10B in the car, 60B in the garage, with hammer and sidecutters to get the C (electrical) rating compliance
I reckon the 10 would be enough to slow a fire down so it might be wheeled away from other things, and the 60 would be capable of putting it out. Anything less than a 20B is likely just false security for a shed though.
