Make some friends and get one of them to drop you off?
Hi, what step current situation - is there any place to park my bike for 8 days that is cheaper for bikes. Long term park does not seem to have lower rate which is crazy. Anyone please?
Heard there are bike parks in main undercover building and you can just ride past barriers - anyone done this and will i make it on large bike with panniers?
I don't mind paying but won't pay same as car...
Thanks

I think that is reasonable, bit of a fluff using courtesy coach but $5 day for safe undercover park is good.

There would be space to park up a bike with panniers in the covered park nearest the terminal and I've never had an issue there. But never parked more than one night and not for a year or two.
$40 is not bad for peace of mind IME. Even better value if they have space to store your gear. Or maybe that will all lock away in your luggage? (Not so great locked up for 8 days if it's wringing wet, though.)
I've often parked in the nearest covered carpark, there's even space for bikes allotted.
However, no way would I park there overnight...

I just went straight round the barrier - no sweat! (the left hand lane is a bit wider for busses....)
I have a few domestic trips planned over the next few months and im wondering about this too.... will be leaving the bike for a few days and probably cant take my helmet so will have to leave it there...
Anyone live near the airport with a bit of spare space for a bike ?
Of no use to the Jafas but... Some of the hotels near the airport allow a few days parking for guests. So if you stay overnight before you fly out (and again when you return?) you can park there for maybe a week and use their shuttle to get to the terminal.
Last time I was flying in and out of Auckland so I didn't need that service, but I did note that there were covered bikes in the carpark.

Hi There
I shall be commuting to and from AKL Airport, using my bike to get to and from there. Having looked on the website it simply states that bikes can use car parking spots however are there any other areas/spots where bikes can park there? I've done a search on here but the posts are a few years old now so I'm wondering if there's any newer intel out there.
Thanks,![]()
Commuting as in going to work there?
If you're working there, does your work place have a corner where you could pop the bike while you're at work?
Sorry - Perhaps I should explain a little more clearly.
I shall be travelling to and from the South Island on a weekly basis. Generally I'll be flying down South on a Friday and coming back again on Monday morning.
There is undercover parking in this building:

There are a few spots around the ground level for motorbikes.
Thanks for the info. Do you have to pay for these? If so how does one go about it?
