Nobody gets everything they want from a negotiation. The World Bank report says we are one of the nations who gains the most.

I can't remember the last time I gave a flying fuck what marxist economists thought on any topic. So Jane Kelsey can suck my dick.

And you're a fucking tool. So if you're against it... I'm in boots and all.

    Simples.

I guess they may have exhaustively analysed the entire agreement, from the perspective of all countries involved. They should have. NZ may be among the biggest gainers, but that's really not the contentious issue - it's the amount of power the agreement gives to multi-national, non-domiciled corporations. Besides, is there a list of those who could stand to lose the most?

Political allegiances aside, she is one of the people in this country most qualified to comment and publicise issues/flaws. Certainly more qualified than anyone in the National party. Based on that, who is more likely to be presenting the facts correctly and who is more likely to be making mistakes, or even ignoring the bits they don't understand?

If there are protest marches, there should be supporting marches too. Any guesses which will be better attended?

I think the TPPA is a bad idea. NZ doesn't need the TPPA, but the US does. I've not read every last detail but if I were a country, what I have read would scare the shit out of me. No country is going to win out of this. There may be some benefits, sure, but the bulk gains will be made by individuals and corporations.

Back in the day my family sponsored a young Russian economist from Irkutsk to visit NZ. Pre Glasnost. Unsurprisingly, except to us, he didn't want to go back. He drove a courier van in NZ. That's what a marxist economist is worth on the free market.

Nobody gives a fuck what Jane Kelsey thinks except the 5% of fellow travellers who will be marching. The same 5% who took Krim.coms 30 pieces of silver and a length of fatty German sausage. The trust fund commies like Lyla Harre and Nicky Hager.

You can march and squeal until hell freezes over. You will never achieve power. You are a sideshow.

Kim Dotcom's latest masterpiece. If you look closely you can see Lyla Harre lounging naked by the pool and John Minto jerking off in the doorway. Go commies!

Thought JK made a good point today when responding to the Maori complaints at Ratana that the TPPA was negotiated without the public being involved. Pretty much like every Waitangi Settlement ever!

    I used the plural pronoun

Which maybe a bit presumptive on my part

And I may be wrong with the use of the word baffoon

There might be a better word

I would say that protesting/marching/rallying is pointless and that there is only 1 way that you're going to be able to challenge the TPP in the future... and I would say that what I've just written is also just as pointless as you feel that protesting/marching/rallying isn't pointless. I'm not having a go, but people are too busy to want to have to deal with this sort of thing. That's why they vote.

Oh, I agree. Marches do little to change government policy. But they can raise awareness within the voting public... Assuming the government 'allows' the news to report what has been happening. (Good grief, I sound like some sort of nutcase conspiracy theorist!)
