Nice and cool cruising around, but between the putting on of socks boots, jeans, jacket, helmet and gloves and rolling out the drive darn near killed me.Very few bikes around.

Fucksake. Hang yourself.
Today's ride: Otorohanga (via 39), Te Kuiti, to Whakamaru through Benneydale, over the dam and up to Old Taupo Rd, back to Arapuni, Kihikihi and return to Te Tron via Paterangi Rd.
I had forgotten just how interesting the Benneydale route is (SH30). Stopped for gas in Benneydale because the GPS said there is a Mobil Station there and I figured I could use my Mobilcard and get 10c/l off the pump price. Well, not quite. There is a Mobil outlet there. But he doesn't do Mobilcard nor does he sell 95 octane, only 91. For $1.83 per litre (currently 1.46 at Mobil Lake Road). But needs must. Since I didn't fancy pushing the bike all the way home I ponied up the dollars and went on my merry way.
Stopped for pie and coffee at Whakamaru, blasted up Whakamaru Road and came home via above route. Nice cool overcast day, dry roads, almost no traffic and not one traffic cop. Woohoo. Great day for a ride. Had a ball!
Incidentally, the Mobilcard, if you have a supergold card, is well worth having. It gives 10c/litre off whatever you pay at the pump. So yesterday, Mobil Lake Rd had 10c/l off anyway. The pump price of 95 octane was 1.54.9c/l. I will pay 1.44.9c/l when the bill comes next month. About the only benefit of being old that I have found so far...now for my afternoon nap.![]()
