Well it is in the road code, it's just not enforced

You're lucky. I have one as well, and when I try to close all four of the vents, it looks like there is a bee in my helmet and I can't quite get it out...

Actually since the 4km tolerance there seems to have been a resurgence...

I doubt anyone ever gets ticketed for misuse of a headlight given the number of (usually falcons and commodores) driving around with badly adjusted fog/driving lamps or the sheer number of people who don't know to dip their lights for oncoming traffic....

Anyhow do enough km's and you eventually become tactically aware of road policing methods and develope sixth sense for where and when they will be about... This is usually a very short distance sections of your overall journey so you just back it off in hi enforcement areas.
Eg other day heading up north there is 30km/h roadworks still trying to repair a crap section of road that contributied to a fatal accident. Now its state highway one and easter weekend, you KNOW there will be cops on that area of road.
Oh I did chuckle when up ahead Mr Audi or similar rich bugger in dark sedan is getting a ticket from mufti in middle of said roadworks, even though there are two road works trucks doing the pace car thing......
Its all a mute argument/debate anyway, soon your own cellphone will be a permanent policeman in your pocket....

It was in the propaganda machine a few years back, they 1st failed to have people charged with "obstruction of justice" and some other thing but found they could extort for "misuse of headlihght"

Undercover in oncoming traffic or those scams that use 2 cop cars, 1 using the laser & the other doing the extortion down the road a bit, both ways to be caught flashing

Not common & they only use it when it impedes their scamming but it has been used, tho mostly to make an example of someone to scare others off warning drivers to the illegal scam happening ahead

    eek

I'm surprised no one has mentioned that you can get a ticket for tooting your horn. Someone beeped their horn at a cop who failed to see the green light, surprise surprise the cop pulled the guy over and gave him a ticket.

flashing high beam and using the horn are for "emergency" situations only. The bright light could startle said oncoming car or distract them and cause an accident... apparently.

Might not be, target or fair go or one of those type programs once had someone who was fined for telling someone to "move out da fucking way" with a horn... Think it was something excessive like 350$ for it too (could be wrong on the dollar value)

Yeah - I use the hand rotation ... to signal to other riders. I never flash my lights for cars .. fuck 'em .. let them get caught ..

The number of times a car driver has warned me of tax traps...

So I warn all humans , regardless of what they drive/ride...
